Later that afternoon, as the sun was about to descend and the world slowly rotated toward night, darkness gradually began to shroud the horizon. The skies seemed to dim with every passing second, and—
[N/A: Hey, what's with this intro? Just get to the point. Are you really going to describe how the day sets from beginning to end?]
[Miss Camera Woman: I think it's good. Just look at the red sun setting from this view. It feels so soothing and mesmerizing.]
[N/A: Hey, I think you got too immersed.]
As the two extras complained about how this fucking chapter started...
Inside Nemuri's condo, Maki the fish head had just finished setting the dinner table and was waiting for his stepmom to come home.
Everything is set... just my lovely mermaid is missing.
After whispering to himself, he washed his hands and wiped them clean and dry. He walked into the quiet living room and sat down on the soft sofa.
He closed his eyes to relax for a bit. Inside his consciousness, he activated "THE BIG THREE SYSTEM," or TB3 for short.
[N/A: So lame. You really have no naming skills.]
[Miss Camera Woman: Agreed.]
Ignoring the two suckers, the system interface appeared. The dark golden serpent dragons decorating the corners of the panel still looked as majestic as ever.
His name and age remained at the very top of the panel. His points, which accumulated every second, had also increased—from the original seven thousand plus to around eight thousand.
Just below that was the information regarding his accumulated points. Beneath it was the list of rewards he had received, and below that was the system storage, where all of his rewards and many other items were safely stored.
On the left side of the system panel rested the Serpent Dragon Eye Lucky Box, its size taking up almost half of the first panel.
[N/A: I think this placement is wrong ! Or did this fucking box move on its own?]
[Miss camera woman: How should I know?]
Below the Serpent Dragon Eye Lucky Box was the indicator showing that one thousand points were needed to perform a single draw.
A thousand points earned in just one day... Hmm, I wonder who's contributing all these points. Even while staying at home, I can still accumulate them. If this keeps up, I'd really be tempted to become a complete shut-in.
[N/A: Yeah, this dude would definitely do it. I guess ten years wasn't his limit.]
[Miss Camera Woman: Nope. This guy would be great at meditation and cultivation—just like those cultivators who stay in seclusion for a thousand years or so.]
[N/A: Now that you compare it like that, ten years suddenly seems insignificant.]
[Miss Camera Woman: Oh, then why not let this fish head stay in seclusion for a thousand years? I'd accompany him. Tehee~]
[N/A: Nope. This ain't some Chinese cultivation shit. And watch it, Miss Camera Woman. Mister Camera Man would undoubtedly get jealous.]
[Miss Camera Woman: Hmph... who cares about him and his little thing.]
[N/A: Oh no! Sorry, Mister Camera Man. You might end up getting cuckolded in the near future.]
[Mister Camera Man: Achuu... Huh? Is someone talking bad about me?]
Hmm... why do I feel like I'm being watched?
[N/A: 😶]
[ Miss camera woman:😶]
Maki asked himself after suddenly feeling a cold breeze pass by, making him shiver.
After turning his head left and right, then looking up and down, he found no one around and finally relaxed.
Maki: "Looks like I'm still adapting... what a drag."
He then turned his attention back to the system. This time, he didn't press the Next button because he knew the draws in the three categories on the second panel were still on cooldown. As for the last panel, which was still loading, he didn't care much. He wasn't an impatient person, and he knew how to wait.
Maki: "Eight thousand points. I'll draw three times. That'll leave me with five thousand."
With careful control over his consciousness, he performed a single draw by pressing the one-thousand-point indicator below the Serpent Dragon Eye Lucky Box.
Simultaneously, the Serpent Dragon Eye shut closed, and the Lucky Box shook violently, as if something monstrous were about to burst from within.
CREEAAAK... BAGAAM...
The lid of the Lucky Box burst open, and an orb flew out.
The orb was made of obsidian, and sculpted onto its surface was the fierce head of a fox.
Maki: "Looking cool as always."
The fox orb hovered above the open Lucky Box.
Maki controlled his consciousness once again and tapped the fox orb.
A single tap was all it took for the solid-looking obsidian orb to become covered in a web of cracks. The fractures spread rapidly until they covered the entire surface, and the obsidian shell shattered completely, revealing the item hidden inside.
Maki: "What is this? A book?"
He tried to read the title printed on its cover.
DING! CONGRATULATIONS! You have received:
The Icha Icha (Make-Out) Series No. 1: Icha Icha Paradise
Maki: "Icha... Icha..."
Before he could finish reading the title, the book vanished and was automatically stored inside the system storage.
At the same time, the Lucky Box's lid snapped shut. The Serpent Dragon Eye slowly reopened, its slit-shaped red pupil staring furiously at the fish head.
His red eyes shifted toward the system storage, where he saw the orange-covered book resting inside. He wasn't particularly curious about it. His fish head wasn't fond of literature, so he didn't investigate any further.
[N/A: Ain't that the smut novel written by the Pervy Sage?]
Maki: "Okay, let's make another draw."
Maki repeated the same simple process.
He performed another draw. The Serpent Dragon Eye closed, the Lucky Box trembled, and its lid burst open.
Another obsidian orb flew out and hovered above the open Lucky Box.
This time, instead of a fox's face, a human skull was sculpted onto the obsidian shell.
Maki: "This time it's... the human skull..."
