Chapter 197 - 197 COOL

(っ-_-)っAM N. NOT.

After Maki had checked the reward he had obtained in the Naruto category, he nodded, thinking carefully about where he should release the island turtle to find a mate. He was genuinely going to do it. To Maki, the island turtle wasn't a mere prize but a rare species that required care, something teetering on the edge of extinction. He considered the logistics, unaware that much of what he was imagining was nonsense.

Maki then moved on to the reward he had previously obtained in the One Piece category—the sword-like item.

"A-me no ha-ba–ki–ri… what a cool name," he murmured. "Twenty-one great swords… is this a different class of blades? And adjustable length… why?" Maki asked himself, analyzing the small details of the katana.

The original wielder of Ame no Habakiri was the legendary samurai Oden, who stood thirteen feet tall. The Ame no Habakiri measured half his height. Later, Oden's son, Momonosuke, inherited it. A magical occurrence had caused the blade to shrink to half its original length. Could a sword possess willpower or the ability to alter its own size? Perhaps. Who knew?

Maki then nodded at the rewards he had acquired: a sword, an island turtle, and a bird-like mask. He felt a surge of excitement at the thought of testing the fossil-like bird beak that had been upgraded by the system, and he was eager to see the sheer size of the turtle in real life. After trading the rewards, his anticipation built, though he knew he needed to inspect other things first.

He checked his remaining points.

[POINTS]

12,834

"There's still plenty of points. I guess I'll unlock the new panel."

Maki swiped to the third page of the system, where a chained panel appeared, unlockable for 5,000 points. Using his consciousness, he selected to unlock the panel.

[5000] …

Ding—

Maki heard the confirmation chime and observed the page begin loading. A progress bar appeared, displaying [0%], indicating that he needed to wait for the page to finish. Unlike the second page, which unlocked automatically, this third page required patience. Maki nodded, accustomed to waiting, much as he did while fishing.

He swiped back to the first panel to check his points.

[POINTS]

7,834 (+1 +1 +1 +1)

The beeping exclamation mark beside the points had vanished, and he noticed his points gradually increasing again. Maki decided to perform another draw from the first panel.

He pressed the draw button beneath the obsidian-golden dragon-eye chest, spending 1,000 points for a single draw. The obsidian chest trembled violently, the dragon-eye lid shutting momentarily before opening. An obsidian orb emerged. Unlike previous draws, the orb's surface didn't display a skull or a fox—it resembled a screaming human face.

"What is this?" he asked himself. The surface of the orb resembled a distorted human visage, the mouth lined with numerous jagged teeth, a nose absent, and eyes sharply angled, inhuman. It resembled the faces of hollow beings he had encountered.

"Cool," he whispered—his default word whenever he couldn't find adequate description.

Maki pressed the orb with his consciousness. As before, it cracked and shattered, revealing a card. Maki hadn't seen cards appear when updating the first panel before, but now it materialized. The card briefly disappeared, then he located it in the system storage. Its cover bore the same hollow face as the orb and was entirely black.

He mentally pressed the card, and it expanded to fill nearly half the system screen. The upper half displayed an image, while the lower half provided detailed information.

"What is this… clothes?" he asked, noticing the contents of the card.

It depicted dark clothing—a jacket and pants or perhaps a gown.

Confused but intrigued, he read the details beneath the image:
