Chapter 172 - 172 APPLE

ZAP.....

The flash of light cut through the air, and in its wake, the clear crystals transformed. Where they'd once shone like polished glass, they now gleamed deep as midnight—dark blue diamonds scored with fine cracks, threaded through with veins of vivid green that pulsed faintly, as if still alive.

The stones began to fall.

All Might moved before anyone could draw breath—his form a blur of gold and red as he launched upward. Each diamond was twice the size of a rugby ball, and from their perch ninety feet above, the drop alone would spell disaster. These weren't fragile gems; they were dense, heavy ores—each weighing between one and two thousand kilos, depending on the Anomaly it had come from. Let them hit the ground, and they'd tear massive craters into the asphalt, undoing all the progress they'd made to clear the street.

But All Might caught all three with ease, his hands closing around the cool, hard surfaces. The combined weight—roughly six to seven thousand kilos—might have flattened a lesser man, but he barely registered it. With a steady grace that belied his power, he descended slowly to the pavement, his boots landing soft as a whisper.

"Huu… that was close. Almost left us with another mess to clean up," he rumbled, setting the ores down carefully on the cleared ground.

The woman, her assistant, and the Haruspex team swarmed forward at once, their eyes wide with fascination.

"This Adamas is like nothing we've documented. Deep blue base color, but look at those green veins—they're not just surface-level."

"You're right. That has to mean a new variant—could be one of the most valuable specimens we've found yet."

"What grade would you peg it at?"

"Dark blue typically puts it in the C² to C³ range. But those veins… I'm not sure—could be a sign it was mutating toward B¹ grade before it stabilized."

"So the Anomalies themselves were a C² to B¹ threat level?"

"That's our best guess right now."

"Alright—double-check every detail. Record everything, take precise measurements, and adjust our scanners for the vein composition. We can't afford to miss anything."

Their leader's voice cut through the chatter, sharp and clear. The team moved with practiced efficiency, each member falling into their role without hesitation.

Then the leader himself turned toward All Might and the woman, his footsteps quiet on the broken asphalt. Unlike his team—clad in sleek black plated armor—he dressed in old-money style: a long black coat draped over a tailored suit, his curly brown hair falling to his shoulders in loose waves.

"All Might. Good to see you again," he said, extending a hand.

All Might clasped it firmly, grinning. "Isaac! Still as serious as ever about your work—I should have known you'd show up."

Isaac Newton the 20th let out a low laugh. "Can't help it when the call's this interesting. When they told me what we were dealing with, I had to come see for myself."

Authority: Genetics

Category: Quirk

Epithet: Apple

His Quirk granted him the ability to create apples of any number or size—he could fashion one large enough to house a family, if he wanted. But that would drain his stamina dry, and he'd never seen the point of such a display.

"Hahaha! Fair enough—I didn't catch half of this myself until Hime got here," All Might said, nodding toward the woman beside him.

Isaac dipped his head in a slight bow. "Princess. Thank you for the call earlier—this is a genuine breakthrough. A new variant, and clear signs of mutation we've never seen in Anomalies before."

She waved off the formality with a flick of her hand. "No need for that, Isaac. We're just glad you made it in time."

"Now then," Isaac's tone shifted, growing serious. "I need every detail about how this played out. Every single one."

All Might's grin softened into a shrug. "Sorry to say—I got here after the fight was done. Didn't see a thing."

The woman nodded in agreement. "Same for me. By the time I broke through the wood, everything was already over."

Isaac raised an eyebrow, his gaze drifting to the towering wooden centaurs still standing at the street's center. He'd barely spared them a glance earlier, too focused on the vanishing Anomalies—but now he studied them closely, running a hand along the carved wood. "Wood… is this Kamui's work? Or another Phylax I don't know about?"

"Neither," the woman said casually, as if she were discussing the weather. "It was a UA student."

Isaac's eyes widened for a split second before he let out a low whistle. "Well… well… well. Looks like we've got another set of troublesome kids on our hands."

All Might and the woman shook their heads in unison. "Not just troublesome," All Might said, a note of wonder in his voice. "Mysterious as hell."

Isaac laughed, shaking his head. "Hahaha! That's your department, not mine. But I do need those details—this kind of thing has never happened before. Makes me wonder… maybe we're not the only ones evolving out here. Maybe the Anomalies are, too."

They both nodded, the weight of his words hanging in the air.

Then—BEEEEEP—BEEEEEP—

A car horn cut through the quiet, sharp and insistent. They turned to see a sleek black Porsche pulled to the curb, and from the driver's window, Nemuri was leaning out, beeping again and waving.

When All Might and the woman saw her, they shared a look—and broke into identical, warm smiles.

"Now that is a coincidence," they said at once.
