Chapter 162 - 162 OCEAN ENDS.

The man in the Marine cap mumbled to himself,

"Inuunera toquneralu naluakka, kisianni avalassaanga. Imarpiup qanoq naggatissinneraani takujumallugu."

( "I don't know my past or my future, but I will break free. I want to see how the ocean ends." )

A flicker of excitement and desire ignited in his eyes—a desire to silence the irritating chatter around him.

Maki sensed the Anomalies were about to strike. Their massive hooves promised significant damage and tremors. Behind Maki, five wooden statues began to form, slowly taking shape and molding into his exact likeness.

Creeeeek.... Swiiiish...

Once perfectly crafted, the wooden clones stood beside him, each an identical replica of Maki. The original Maki declared, "I'll leave the rest to you."

The two Makis on his right nodded, then leaped back, rushing toward the unconscious people strewn across the street. Their mission was simple: save those who had, moments ago, been disturbing the silence with their screams. These two clones moved with coordinated fluidity, summoning branches from the very street itself. They expertly controlled every branch, using them to gently lift the unconscious bodies from the battlefield. Their precision and control were astounding, perhaps even surpassing the original's.

But the original Maki paid them no mind, for the Anomalies were now in motion. The stomping of their hooves grew louder, faster, echoing through the street, sending shockwaves with every tremor.

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

The Anomalies roared in unison at the tiny figure below them. The three arms of the skull-headed deer clenched their claws to their maximum. The empty eye sockets of the skull stared directly at him. Even without pupils or irises, Maki felt the Anomalies' gaze fixated on his direction.

Maki nodded to the three clones beside him. They nodded back, understanding their task without a word. The plan had been set from the moment they were summoned.

Let's call them... ataaseq (one), marluk (two), and pingasut (three).

The three clones moved before the Anomalies could even make their first move, leaping and soaring into the sky. The Anomalies looked up at the tiny "ants" approaching them. The Anomaly at the forefront of their triangular formation roared menacingly, stretching its dark-scaled, long arms towards the insignificant figures. Its claws were massive, as large as a house, descending faster than they should, slowly tightening, intent on obliterating the clones.

But before they could land and destroy them, the clones clapped their hands simultaneously, muttering in deep voices, "Mokuton – Wooden Pyramid!"

Clap....

The clap echoed through the street, and from the cemented floor, cracks appeared. One crack, then two, until a network of fissures covered the entire street. From these cracks, branches of wood, like coiling snakes, erupted. These branches were impossibly thick and countless, intertwining like vines to form colossal trunks and walls. The Anomalies found themselves surrounded by wood.

Zaaaazaaaaaaaazaaaaa...

The Anomalies laughed at the pathetic tricks of the ant below them, then struck down at the clones, who were still suspended in the air. But before they could be touched, a thick hand made of intertwined trees intercepted the beast's massive claw.

Kabaaaaaaaaaaang!

The clash between the wooden hand and the dark-scaled claw produced an unbelievable force that reverberated throughout the city. The Anomaly saw that its primary claw was ineffective. It moved to use its other two arms, intending to seize the wooden hand gripping its first claw, desperate to free itself. With a swift motion, the beast's two arms rushed in with a wide swing. But again, before they could reach and destroy the wooden hand, they too were captured by another massive wooden hand, completely sealing the Anomaly's three arms.

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

The Anomaly roared furiously at the "ant." The two Anomalies behind it were helpless. Their massive size became a hindrance as countless wooden branches swarmed them like snakes, coiling around their deer-like bodies, preventing movement. The wood wasn't like roots digging into the ground but massive serpents entangling their prey. Their size, usually an advantage, was now a disadvantage. Though the wooden branches were easily crushed by their simple movements, the clones knew this was merely a distraction to buy time.

The wooden pyramid was now fully formed. On each side of the clones, a triangular wooden structure, massive and towering, stood 100 to 120 feet tall, dwarfing the 50-foot Anomalies.

The clones clapped their hands again at the same time, and the pyramids converged, swallowing and sealing the still-struggling Anomalies with their "petty tricks."

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAng!

The sealing of the wooden pyramids, colliding with each other, generated an incredible wind pressure. But the clones weren't finished. They added another layer of wood to each side of the pyramid, then another, and another. The street where the cracks had appeared and where the Anomalies had first emerged was now completely sealed by a colossal structure that towered over the city's buildings. What stood there was a wooden pyramid, resembling an ancient temple found deep within a mysterious forest, its surface covered in serpent-like trunks intertwined and coiling together.

The Anomalies were sealed inside this very pyramid. And the fight had just begun, for it wasn't just the Anomalies trapped within; Maki was there too. He refused to let the Anomalies wreak any more havoc in the city. He had trapped them—and himself—in this space. This wasn't merely a pyramid to seal the creatures; it was a net he had cast, a net he had no intention of pulling up. He planned to retrieve what he had ensnared, intending to kill this noisy catch.

This was an arena made for them, to fight to their heart's content. And the victor would be the one to emerge from this place.

Maki gazed at the three Anomalies, his eyes narrowed.
