Chapter 141 - 141 ADVISER

AM N. NOT.

Maki was sitting on the cold concrete floor of the parking lot. The place was dim, illuminated only by the pale light spilling from the drive-through entrance. The faint hum of distant engines echoed against the walls, but around him, everything felt still.

His mind was in turmoil.

He had endured hard work and life-threatening situations before. Waking up before dawn to prepare everything needed for fishing. Spending ten to fifteen hours at sea—waiting, hauling nets, battling waves, wrestling with stubborn lines. Returning home exhausted, taking a short rest, and repeating the cycle the next day. That was how life was supposed to be.

So what changed?

Did traveling here make him different?

Was his life really supposed to be this easy?

Wake up. Eat. Take a shit. Sleep.

Am I taking advantage of her too much?

The questions circled endlessly in his mind. Maki didn't even realize he was only sixteen now. In his thoughts, he was still counting the years from before, still aging from the life he had already lived. To him, it felt natural. His mind was responding the only way it knew how—questioning insecurities, doubting privileges.

A man who couldn't catch a fish shouldn't expect to have food to eat. That was how he was raised.

Yet now, everything was handed to him.

Nemuri had told him she would take care of everything. Food. Clothes. Shelter. A place to stay.

But did he deserve it?

Who am I, again?

He let out a quiet, bitter laugh.

From clothing to meals to a roof over his head—everything was given freely. He shook his head, muttering under his breath.

"What a disappointment I've become… If Father and Mother saw me like this, they'd surely scold me for an entire day."

Strangely, remembering those old moments of being scolded by his parents made him smile. It was warm, almost comforting.

But even so, he didn't get up.

He remained seated on the floor, staring at nothing.

U.A. Academy – Principal's Office

U.A. High School

Nezu had finally finished arranging everything—classroom dormitories, student supplies, curriculum structures, and special accommodations.

Including Maki's request.

Calling it a "request" was generous. It was more like politely asking for permission to go to the sea.

The waters surrounding U.A. were officially part of U.A. Island's property—a portion of the northern Pacific Ocean legally purchased under Nezu's authority. Granting Maki a small section for fishing was effortless.

Forty teachers had been assigned in total.

Five main instructors for the core curriculum.

The rest were designated for supplementary subjects, which would only be discussed occasionally.

Only one thing remained undecided: the advisers for each class.

Class S. Class A. Class B. Class C.

Four classes. Four advisers. And four assistant teachers.

Nezu lifted his teacup and took a small sip before gently setting it back on the saucer.

His eyes shifted to the column labeled Class C.

Fifteen student names were listed.

At the very top, he typed:

Sekijiro Kan — Pro Hero Name: Vlad King

Authority: Genetics

Category: Quirk

Epithet: Blood Control

Race: Human.

Vlad King was a tall, immensely muscular man with a barrel-chested frame. His light gray—almost white—hair was styled in a messy, swept-back fashion. He had small, dark eyes, a rugged square jawline, and a flat nose. Two sharp fangs protruded from his upper lip, fitting his vampire-themed persona.

His hero suit consisted of a dark red, skin-tight bodysuit reinforced with tan armor plating across his shoulders, chest, and calves. A matching cowl covered the top of his head and eyes, leaving his jaw exposed. On his forearms were specialized metal gauntlets equipped with tubes and valves, allowing him to eject and retract his blood in combat.

Nezu assigned him to Class C.

Class C was filled with students possessing wildly varied Quirks. Vlad excelled at Quirk composition—strategizing teamwork and maximizing synergy. He understood how to blend different abilities effectively, just as he mastered control over his own.

It was the perfect match.

Nezu pressed enter.

Next was Class B.

He read through the list once more.

Interesting.

Whether coincidence or fate, every student in Class B also possessed a Quirk—but this time, the class was entirely female.

Their abilities varied widely. Some had the potential to rival even Class A. However, many lacked combat experience. Some lacked raw power. But in terms of intelligence, coordination, and compassion, they surpassed expectations.

Nezu tilted his head slightly.

"Should I label this Class A instead? Class A for women?"

He chuckled softly and shook his head.

No. He wanted competition. He wanted excitement.

He would not disrupt the balance so easily.

If Class B was composed entirely of young women with strong Quirks, then their adviser should also be a woman.

Someone intelligent. Compatible. Experienced.

His paw reached for the teacup again. After another sip, he placed it down and returned his hands to the keyboard.

He typed:

Nemuri Kayama — Pro Hero Name: Midnight R-Rated Hero

Authority : Genetics

Category :Quirk

Epithet :Somnambulist

Race:Human

Placing Nemuri as Class B's adviser was an obvious choice. She possessed both a powerful Quirk and extensive knowledge. Her bold personality would challenge them, refine them, and push them beyond hesitation.

He pressed enter once more.

Nezu's eyes drifted toward the next column.

A list of particularly intriguing student names waited there.

Next…

Was Class A.
