Chapter 108 - 108 LOGIC

The examinees heard what Kurenai said.

Then they watched as she placed a Timer Snail on the table.

The snail was white, and attached to its body was a ticking countdown device. Its eyes and mouth were closed as the timer began to move.

Without further delay, everyone started the examination.

The sound of tapping echoed throughout the hall.

Maki observed them briefly as they tapped away on their tablets. Then he removed his sheathed katana from his shoulder and placed it beside him. He didn't bother storing it in the system. Why would he? The sheathed blade looked cool — and many examinees had their weapons resting beside them as well.

After setting his sword aside, he picked up the tablet and placed it in the center of the table.

He looked at the screen.

A white background.

In the middle was Question 1, and below it was a blank space labeled Answer. That meant he had to type directly into it.

He noticed there were no other questions visible. When he swiped the screen, it moved to Question 2.

"One page per question," he muttered.

He swiped again. Question 3 appeared.

Then he returned to the first question.

Q1. Fill the blank.

Anomalies are known for their different sizes. The larger an Anomaly was, the ______ an Anomaly is.

Maki stared at it.

Anomalies? Those alien-looking things?

He reread the sentence.

So I just complete it?

Well… big monster means heavier, right? Yup. Logic.

He typed:

Heavier. Bigger aliens have heavier kilos.

He didn't really know much about Anomalies. To him, they were just aliens that crawled out of void cracks on the news. He had never cared enough to study them.

He swiped to the next question.

Q2. If an Anomaly has humanoid features, what is the first thing to consider when fighting one?

Humanoid features?

Well, first ask if it can speak. Then tell it fighting is no good.

He typed exactly that.

Q3. Anomalies are divided into how many tiers or classes?

They have classes?

Maybe three.

Third class. Second class. First class.

Like fish quality.

First class fish had the highest value in the market.

He casually typed 3 and moved on.

Q4. If an Anomaly has dark green scales, what would be the expected ability this Anomaly could use?

Dark green scales?

Maybe it can grow plants.

He typed that.

Q5. If an Anomaly has dark blue scales, what would be the expected ability the Anomaly could use?

Blue?

Water, I guess.

Typed.

Q6. What is the difference between a Hollow and an Anomaly?

Why the sudden change? Shouldn't it be red scales next?

Maybe the questions are scrambled.

He answered:

Hollows are those guys with white masks. Anomalies are aliens.

Q7. When was the first Void Crack opened?

He typed:

From the start.

He continued without checking anything. He simply answered with whatever sounded reasonable to him.

Q8. What is the biggest Anomaly known to mankind yet?

He didn't know its name.

So he typed:

The alien with a dragon head.

Q9. If an Anomaly has dark scales and dark violet scales, what is the expected ability it could use?

Oh, back to this.

Dark and violet?

Maybe like Thanos.

He typed:

Infinity Gauntlet

Q10. What is a Void Crack?

He answered truthfully:

A crack in the void.

That made sense.

Q11. Where was the first occurrence of a Void Crack?

He typed:

On this world.

Obviously.

Q12. What Hollow personalities could be used against them?

He answered:

They punch and kick.

Q13. How many types of Hollows have been discovered?

From the videos, they all looked the same but in different colors.

So he typed:

The same number they discovered.

Which technically answered the question.

Q14. What is the weakness of Tier C Anomalies?

He didn't know.

So he typed:

Their weakness is their weakness.

Q15. What is the difference between Anomalies with threat level A and threat level B?

He answered:

Their threat level.

Which was correct in its own way.

Q16. When a C-level threat Anomaly appears, what grade or class of Authority user can be dispatched to easily handle the situation?

He answered:

The most capable.

Q17. What is Tartarus?

Oh, he knew this.

A realm of Hades.

He typed that.

He was thinking about Marvel.

Q18. What is Impel Down?

He had heard it on the news.

He typed:

Jail.

Correct.

Q19. If you encounter a Void Crack, what is the first thing you will do?

He had never encountered one.

So he typed:

Never experienced it before, so how should I know.

Q20. What are the classifications of a villain to be called a villain?

A villain…

They should look striking and have great ambition they want to accomplish for their own twisted reasons.

He typed that.

Q21. What is Authority?

He answered:

Superpowers.

Q22. What is Authority over Chakra? Explain as much as you know.

He didn't really know.

So he typed:

Growing trees, making water, playing fire, making walls and more magic.

Based on what he had personally experiences and seen.

Q23. What is Authority over Spirituality? Explain as much as you know.

He answered:

Transform into a cooler look.

Which, in a way, wasn't entirely wrong.

Q24. What is Authority over Akuma? Explain as much as you know.

He didn't know what Akuma was.

So he typed:

A power up.

Q25. What is Authority over Genetics? Explain as much as you know.

He typed:

Mutants with X-gene.

Q26. Unlike the other Authorities, Authority over Chakra is known for its elemental classifications. How many elements are there?

He answered:

The same number of elements out there.

Q27. How many categories does Authority over Akuma have?

He didn't know.

So he typed:

Good question.

Q28. What is Authority evolution?

He typed:

Evolution of Authority.

Which, technically, was correct.

The remaining questions followed the same pattern — Authorities, Hollows, Anomalies, villain scenarios, and basic knowledge that any examinee should know.

But for Maki—

He simply answered using whatever logic came to mind.

He didn't overthink.

He didn't panic.

He didn't even try to strategize.

He just typed what made sense to him.

And finally—

He reached the last question.
