Nemuri came home, and Maki had prepared everything for her.
While they were eating, Nemuri asked if he was ready for tomorrow's exam.
Maki simply nodded.
Nemuri could see that he really didn't care about it. She just smiled and said, "Well, that's expected from a fish."
He raised his eyebrow. "Fish who?"
Nemuri's mouth twitched, and she continued eating her food.
After dinner, Maki followed Nemuri to her room, and they slept while cuddling each other.
Morning came. Nemuri was changing in her room while Maki had already finished changing and was waiting for her.
Maki was wearing a silk dark red long-sleeve hoodie paired with dark cargo pants and his black Crocs. It was simple, clearly showing his poor fashion style.
Nemuri finished changing. She was wearing a black-themed suit this time, paired with black eyeglasses that gave her an alluring yet intellectual look. She wore black stockings with her two-inch black heels.
Maki looked at her and noticed that she had become more vibrant and more seductive at the same time.
They didn't need breakfast. They just had their coffee together, and after finishing, they left the condo. As always, Maki double-checked everything. They got into the elevator and went down to the basement parking area.
They took the car, and Nemuri drove back to the UA island.
While they were in the car, Maki looked around the city. It was the same as last time. He used his Sharingan to inspect and view the city more slowly, observing everything within it. He saw the details of everything—humans, mutants, buildings, and the lively streets.
He then deactivated his Sharingan.
When the car was on the long light-blue London Bridge, which Maki called the UA Bridge, he hummed along with the sea waves beneath it.
Then he remembered that he hadn't checked the katana he had drawn yesterday.
"Maybe later," he whispered.
To pass the time, Maki opened his system to check it again. There was no difference except that his points kept rising. His total points were back to five thousand-plus.
He closed the system panel.
Then he saw the tunnel again. The lights automatically illuminated the dark space. After the tunnel, the lined-up statues could be seen.
He hadn't noticed it before, but this time he saw someone familiar. As the car passed the statue, he leaned his head out of the car window and turned to look at it. He activated his Sharingan and saw clearly.
It was Hashirama's statue.
His gaze focused solely on the statue of Hashirama.
Nemuri shouted, "Maki, don't put your head out the window!"
Maki heard her and obeyed.
"Hey, Nem-Nem… did you see that old unc was there?"
She didn't look at him. Her eyes were on the road. "Who?"
"Hashirama's statue was there," he said.
Nemuri shook her head at him. "Of course he was there. What do you expect? He was a legendary figure."
Maki heard her, but he didn't care about that. What he was thinking was, isn't Hashirama from the Naruto universe?
He tilted his head and closed his eyes in confusion. After a little while, he gave up thinking about it.
Well, not my problem.
He just shrugged it off.
After the statues, their car made its way to the great white fortress of UA, where they needed to verify their information. Then their car made it inside the fortress, through the forest, and finally to the UA grounds, where, like before, many people were waiting again.
Nemuri dropped him off at the waiting ground.
Maki then kissed her forehead and said goodbye, and Nemuri kissed him and said, "Good luck."
She then drove the car to the academy's basement parking lot.
Maki stood on the ground once again.
Then he heard a cat meowing.
He looked toward the source of the noise and saw, ten feet away from him, a cat sitting on the branch of a tree.
He walked toward it and raised his right hand. The black cat jumped from the tree and landed on his wide palm.
The black cat then walked along his arms and rested on his shoulder. Its head pushed against his cheek and rubbed against him, showing that it missed him.
Maki knew who this cat was.
It was that woman.
He didn't even have time to apologize for what he did to her before he asked, "How are you?"
The black cat answered in its male voice, "Doing just fine."
Unbeknownst to Maki, everyone's eyes were on him.
Especially the orange-haired person standing at the very corner. On his back was a massive sword secured in a long sheath strapped across his chest.
He was looking at Maki with squinting eyes, inspecting the black cat he was holding. He didn't show it, but his eyes were full of anger.
"Who the fuck are you to touch her…" he muttered.
It wasn't just him.
The most shocked of them all was the handsome man wearing a white robe. His eyes widened as he looked at Maki's back.
"This is impossible… just what does this mean…" he muttered.
He gulped at the man. He even forgot about the black cat he had been inspecting earlier, planning to make a move. But suddenly, his eyes widened at the man who had come out from the black car. He gritted his teeth and clenched his fist.
Just what kind of luck is that?
An alerting sound kept buzzing in his mind.
