Chapter 57

Azek let go of the spell.

Black blood continued dripping down from his mouth as he persisted to conjur mana.

Only Azek had seen it because from the start he had been paying attention to him.

Right now, wind blades hovered around parcival gathering dust around him so it wouldn't be known immediately.

Phew.

Azek took a deep breath.

Mana continued to burn.

Crystals got crushed.

A spell formed and Parcival's eyes widened.

The blood circle had almost finished completing in front of him.

And suddenly he saw in front of him.

He looked straight at the person who appeared out of nowhere.

Azek stood there.

Pffffffff—

Pfffffff—

He spurted out blood in large quantities and looked down.

There was a small circle plastered on his heart.

Needles like excited mana stars continued attacking his mana circle inside his body, which was trying to fuse with his heart.

Black blood continued pouring from every orifice.

From the periphery of his blurry vision, he saw Azek crushing a crystal—and suddenly his vision turned upside down.

His head had been severed.

His eyes dilated and vision continued to blacken.

Thud.

The head dropped to the ground.

Azek continued pouring mana into the headless body, burning the black circle.

"Damn it."

He had been using mana crystals nonstop, but the battle had taken a toll on himself as well.

And after this, they had to take care of the remaining two abominations.

A painful current shot through his heart, but he persisted.

Behind him the the battle continued and clashes resounded loudly.

Mages were getting exhausted as the continuous high level battle was dragging on.

And their leader knew that it couldn't go on.

Ryan soared into the air and looked at the whole battlefield.

He scanned every corner for details and saw Parcival's severed head on the ground.

Azek was struggling while casting a spell on his body.

Ryan closed his eyes, arranged every detail, and laid out commands.

"Bombard the weakened gorilla monster first with fire spells on its cut-off areas. Grade 1 mages are to focus on the other one with me. Ashvin, go supply Azek Willowheart with magic crystals."

People sprang into action at the drop.

Ashvin took off an artifact ring and cast an elaborate spell while running toward Azek's location.

It was a storage type artifact which was rare find as space magic had been lost in history.

When he reached, the spell completed and the mana crystals stored inside came out and got crushed.

Azek layered the spell with mana nonstop and burned through his core with all his power.

The struggle git fierce as the spell on his heart tried to draw black mana circle inside.

..

Explosions were going off everywhere.

Boooom—

Boom—

Pssssssss—

Fire bombs launched in rapid succession and didn't give the monster a chance to retaliate.

Ryan finished gathering mana.

A small circle appeared, and mages who looked at it desperately cast the largest spell they could muster.

It was Ryan's signature move.

Lightning Metal Spear.

Whenever it appeared, it caused a stir.

It was known for its lethal damage output but there was also a lot of mana consumed in casting the spell.

Whoosh.

The lighetning spear finished and instantly pierced the heart of the gorilla. A moment later a volley of spells landed and its huge frame crashed down with a loud thud.

Whole body had become littered with holes.

Azek's spell had already burned the circle inside and continued incinerating the remains.

But it didn't end there.

After the spear dislodged, it went and targeted the porcupine monster.

The monster had already sensed the power, so it had retreated into its spiky shell.

"Damn it" Ryan cursed internally.

This didn't spell anything good.

But now there only option was to attack head on.

Lightning danced around the spear as it directly attacked the shell.

Currents surrounded the whole shell.

Water mages sent water bombs nonstop so the current blasted through skin, and multiple wounds started bleeding.

Puck—

The red circle slowly started crumbling in front of Parcival.

Azek gritted his teeth and finished layering the spell and decided to blast through the whole core in one go.

The circle inside Parcival had already half-fused with his heart, and mana had started to turn blackish in spots.

So he had to take care of both at once.

Otherwise they didn't know what sort of spell would activate if it finished fusion.

They weren't in a position to handle another magic bomb.

So he threw the caution to wind and incinerated everything.

When the excited mana finally burned through the last crumbs, Azek still didn't let his guard down.

He conjured mana bullets nonstop and continued attacking the flesh, blowing it apart.

Ashvin looked at Azek and asked, "Shouldn't you stop now? At this rate, there'll be nothing left to investigate."

When he said that, Azek hesitated for a moment.

Boooooooom—

A deafening sound resounded throughout the whole battlefield.

Azek jerked his head to look behind him.

Ashvin had already started running towards the centre where monster was located.

when the dust settled and smoke cleared,a large mana circle appeared in front of monster and it finished gathering mana almost instantly.

Spear was lodged inside its shell but it had abonded its defense.

Now it looked like it had decided to take everything down with him.

Ryan looked at the shield in front of him.

It had crumbled without putting up resistance.

pffffff...

Blood spurted out from his mouth.

A fire arrow had blasted through it and lodged into him directly piercing his stomach.

He looked down at the arrow and made eye contact with monster.

The monster's eyes squinted into a mocking expression.

Ryan's expression stiffened up.

Azek looked at the whole scene and then looked in front of him.

The headless body still stood in front of him,

heart completely blown.

He had to decide.
