Chapter 213 - NUCT: Chapter 213

"What was that brat outside just now?"

Hidan casually wiped the blood with his clothes and asked indifferently.

At this moment, Tobi suddenly leaned in. "Could it be... Shinji-senpai's illegitimate son? Haha, just kidding..."

Black Flash!

Boom!

"Ah!"

Just as Sasuke was hesitating whether to continue, he saw a figure crash through the wall and land face-first in front of him with a splat.

He immediately recognized the guy.

Wasn't this one of the two who had gone in earlier?

This was too brutal...

"Save me..."

Tobi weakly lifted his head and struggled to extend a hand towards Sasuke.

Sasuke hesitated for a moment but decided to help the person up first.

Then he heard a shout from the broken wall:

"Get back here immediately! If you dare to talk nonsense again, I'll break all your teeth!"

"Yes, Senior Shinji~"

Tobi performed a "carp leap" to stand up and then zipped back, showing no signs of injury.

Sasuke's expression darkened. He felt that these guys were all very abnormal!

However, when Tobi reached out earlier, Sasuke noticed he had the same mark on his hand as Akagi Shinji. He figured they must belong to some organization.

So he walked back again, determined to confront Shinji to the end.

Unknowingly, night fell.

Although Sasuke had been hungry and cold all day, it only fueled his stubbornness, and his expression became increasingly calm.

And a terrible fact is that most of the Uchiha clan members have this personality.

Inside the room, the three of them were eating grilled meat.

After spending a long time together, Tobi would occasionally secretly lift a corner of his mask and stuff food into his mouth at lightning speed. For a specific reference, think of Kakashi eating.

"Ah, it's so hot... it's burning, it's burning."

"Hahahaha, serves you right!"

Tobi's comical dance after being burned by the heat immediately drew merciless ridicule from the other two.

By the time Tobi finally swallowed the grilled meat, he was almost half-dead.

For some reason, Shinji always felt that this guy seemed to enjoy being 'Tobi.'

Although he wore a mask, he could actually be himself seriously.

If possible, he even wished that Tobi could remain Tobi forever and not become the person under the mask.

But that was probably just a wishful thought. Sigh.

"That kid is still sitting outside."

"Let him be. Don't mind him. We're leaving tomorrow anyway."

Hidan picked up his chopsticks, then put them down again, turned, and picked up the Bloody Three-Moon Scythe.

"What are you doing?"

"Since we're leaving tomorrow, I'm going to kill that kid. He's annoying!"

Shinji was speechless. "You... forget it. I'll go and send the kid away. All day long, he just causes trouble for me."

Shinji got up, put on his clothes, and opened the door.

As expected, Sasuke was sitting outside, motionless.

"Let's go, we need to talk."

Sasuke followed without a word, but Shinji noticed that Sasuke's complexion seemed a bit off.

Then he remembered that Sasuke probably hadn't eaten all day, and had been kicked into a lake that morning, without even changing into dry clothes. He knew what Sasuke's condition was likely to be.

However, knowing this didn't mean he felt any sympathy or concern.

If he had given up earlier, none of this would have happened.

"Let's stop here. What do you want to ask?"

After taking Sasuke to a deserted open space, Shinji intended to quickly get rid of this troublesome matter.

"I want to know why that man... Itachi, did what he did?"

Sasuke's complexion was somewhat abnormal now, and his voice was weak, but his tone was firm.

Shinji couldn't be bothered to pretend anymore and said directly, "He was misled, but he thought it was the best solution at the time, so he did it."

The answer, somewhat unexpected, left Sasuke stunned for a moment.

"I don't understand..."

"It's right that you don't understand. The sooner you understand now, the faster you'll die. That man didn't tell you the truth to protect you."

Shinji pouted, seemingly scoffing at someone's actions.

"Protect... me?"

Sasuke was somewhat dazed, then recalled the terrifying scene of that night, his head aching severely, making his expression somewhat ferocious.

For the past five years, he had only survived by the hatred and desire for revenge against that man.

Now, someone was telling him that Itachi didn't tell him the truth because he was protecting him, and that there were actually other hidden reasons. How could he believe it?!

Yet, another voice in his mind told him that this might be the truth.

The conflicting voices of belief and disbelief battled in his head, making Sasuke feel like his head was about to explode, and his breathing became increasingly heavy.

"The truth... what is it? Tell me."

"Once you know the truth, your current worldview will likely collapse. And if you're not rational enough, you might die a terrible death. Even so, do you still want to know the truth?"

"I want to know!"

Sasuke suddenly looked up, his eyes red and bloodshot.

Shinji noticed that Sasuke's eyes had already activated the Two-Tomoe Sharingan, upgrading from the One-Tomoe.

As expected, anything related to Itachi was a huge mental stimulus for Sasuke.

Especially the truth that Itachi had killed his entire clan, leaving only him alive.

"Fine, since you want to know so badly, I'll tell you."

"The truth is..."

Plop.

Sasuke collapsed directly onto the ground. Although he tried to keep his eyes open, wanting to hear the rest, he could only see Shinji's mouth opening and closing, but he couldn't hear anything. Then he fell into a deep sleep.

Sasuke's day had been quite eventful: starving, falling into a cold lake, and enduring a day of cold wind. Then, he was stimulated and activated the Two-Tomoe Sharingan. His mind was already exhausted.

His fainting now was entirely within someone's expectations.

Or rather, even if Sasuke could have held on a little longer, he would have quietly used [Cursed Speech] to make Sasuke fall asleep.

Because some truths were indeed not meant for Sasuke to know at this moment; they were too cruel.

"I've already told you the truth. It's your own fault for not holding on. Don't blame me."

After leaving these words, Shinji turned to leave.

However, he didn't go far before turning back.

"This is so troublesome..."

Muttering to himself, Shinji roughly picked up Sasuke and tucked him under his arm.

At this moment, Sasuke's forehead was burning hot, and he was muttering incoherently.

Children, they were indeed the most annoying!

Shinji's figure gradually disappeared into the distance.
