Chapter 8 - Ottawa Factory [VIII] - {II}

In the blink of an eye, Haisei lunged forward at supersonic speed, his physiology and a seeming immunity to friction propelling him in front of the first curse of the group in three bounds.

His eyes were dangerously sharp, his cursed energy flushing and coiling around his fist before sinking deep into his body, empowering him further than what he was already capable of. The curse didn't even have time to react. Haisei's fist impacted its gut terribly, and a nasty squelch resounded as his fist didn't stop there.

The other curses didn't hesitate, seizing the advantage of their intruder being bound to their brethren's corpse, the two closest, just a step behind, raised their arms–The chains engraved in them following close by like a telekinetic whip.

Haisei huffed and swung his arm; his physique was shorter than his attackers', but he planned to use that to his advantage. The curse-corpse-bracelet he wore didn't dissipate yet, and he dashed into the nearest curse, the body receiving the brunt of the attack.

The chains pierced through the failing corpse-shield, and Haisei immediately abandoned it, loosening his arm like a coil only to release it like a rocket into the chest of the next curse.

BOOOOOOM!

The curse flew through the room, landing embedded in the steel wall. Its descent resounded like a church bell that signalled the second wave of battle. Chains rattled as legs shuffled faster than before.

Haisei flowed like the wind, his physique revealing how powerful he naturally is, all the while his energy expenditure remained minimal.

The kid ducked, perfectly avoiding a swinging metal whip. The chains buckled around a nearby steel beam that supported the structure, tightening like a vice.

Utilising the momentary pause, Haisei lunged, hopping on the chain and using it like a plank. Just bounds away, he whipped his leg back, and it shot forth, cracking the sound barrier and shooting the curse far away.

Dislodging its arm from its body by the shoulder-socket. Haisei shifted his weight and let his body fall, his knees powering up just as his left palm hit the ground and hoists the rest of his body in the air as he spun, delivering a final side-swipping kick to the last of the petty curses that walked the area.

His breathing levelled. He flared his observation haki and sucked in a cool breath, feeling all the information perfectly relayed in his mind. Seven more. Eight… Where are they coming from? His eyes narrowed, looking in the direction of where he felt the crux of an absurd malevolent presence. His jaw tightened, and his gaze glazed over with an unidentifiable expression.

But his stance and his slow, measured steps toward the cursed presence ahead of him spoke volumes about his bravery.

His golden eyes flickered with recognition. "A barrier." He hummed, his steps slowing further as he concentrated on the feeling right in front of his eyes. It was surreal to say the least–A ripple in reality that his spine seemingly mimicked.

"Hmm… Is this a domain?" He rubbed his chin. Tapping the atmosphere in front of him and enjoying the painless resistance that kept him from entering. I'm not insanely familiar with the concept from the fiction. But, I do have some minor understandings. A curse, if powerful enough, can evoke its own domain–No matter if it's complete or not.

"Incomplete ones would just be unlucky… But so would running into a mature curse capable of expanding a domain." His heart beat in his chest like a drum rocking a stadium. His lips split, his mind was set up, and there weren't many things capable of changing it.

Not like he could just walk away anyway.

"Fuck it."

He stepped forward into the rippling sector in space-time. The resistance kept him back for but a moment, his physical strength proving far superior. He blinked, and his entire surroundings changed.

From a rundown, rotting steelworks, to a mortifying labyrinth culled and layered with rusted steel pillars intersecting and colliding all around him. It was like he was in an endless spatial void, darkness walling around like a prison, while filled with mind-breaking degrees of steel pillars twisting and prodding around—

Haisei grimaced, seeing the formations come together in a laggered totem.

His head swivelled around, his observation Haki flaring and instantly devouring the domain. Every nook and cranny of the pillars was relayed to him within a moment. The weight in his chest dissipated, a senseless notion of worry.

"Wow. I guess I could've expected this." He looked up, and he was forced to swallow any sideways remark he had at the tip of his tongue. "Son of a bitch! You're a creepy bastard!" Troubled sweat slips down his forehead, but that didn't sway his strong, defying and challenging smirk.

His immature muscles rippled as he tensed; the curse radiated a power stronger than any of the minions he had fought earlier– It was a feeling of dread that he couldn't even piece together.

His cursed energy rippled, the curse snarling– Revealing rows, upon rows of twisted, rotting nails for teeth that lined its snow white maw. A round head sat upon its shoulders, a strong, double-barreled nostril sitting just above its thin-lipped mouth.

The teeth it showed earlier showcased just how wide and deadly its jaw can be.

Haisei smiled all the same, his excitement flourishing in the moment, as he subconsciously channelled those powerful emotions into even more cursed energy. His fists flinched, his knees bending with anticipation, feeling the energy flowing in the enemy above him.

First exorcism of my lifetime. There's no time like the present. Hehe, and I'm only six years old at that. A real anomaly in the world of sorcery–Dare he say he's an even bigger factor in the change of power compared to Gojo Satoru.

The one to move first was the curse, utilising its natural, raw talent with cursed energy to blast itself forward fifty meters in the blink of an eye. Haisei narrowly dodged a piercing hand in the shape of rotating chains, wrapped upon layers and layers of more chains.

Rusty and demogrified like the rest of the scene.

Haisei didn't bother to hesitate. His fist drove into the curse's gut like a missile. Folding the creature forward over his head–The toughness of its hide wasn't lost on the kid, his brows furrowing with recognition as the curse skidded backwards off his fist.

Tough bastard. He noted. Skidding a bit himself simply from the resistance. The curse growled, its metal teeth beginning to spin like a horrifying death-trap. Its humanoid form flashed in bounds as it closed the distance in an instant.

Haisei stepped to the side, dodging a strike to his chest, only to find himself dodging yet again by the same arms, elbow bending to make haste. He blinked, the limb pausing over his face as he broke from his backbend, flipping upright and positioning his fist behind him.

Like a whip, he intended to kill the curse in one shot; his arm flailed forward, and the sound barrier paid the price. But this time, the curse was ready. Its two arms were formed into an X, blocking the attack with surprising ease.

I guess I'm not as strong as I thought I was. Small fry will always be small fry at the end of the day. His mind flashed to his past fights leading up to this moment. He couldn't deny his expectations that disappointment he felt–But a streak of excitement fizzled through, understanding his limit is nowhere near in sight.

His grin widened, and he began to run toward the curse, wanting to keep the pressure on the thing as much as he could. He leapt into the air, spinning like a wheel and allowing his right leg to lengthen–and like a saw to some bark, Haisei whipped his foot down with devastating power.

The curse, however, snarled, sensing the energy rise within the boy who walked into its domain. It dove to the side, narrowly avoiding the attack.

BANG!

RMMMBL!

The domain shook, trembling from the force that it had just evenly dispersed. "Tch!" Haisei's foot retracted, and he lopped to the floor only to apply pressure yet again.

But he hadn't the liberty to follow through, he was to busy being surprised by the stupendously large attack that rocketed towards him like a falling comet. Layers upon layers of multi-sized industrial nails threatened to fall like rain.

And all the while, the curse at the other end of the field snarled, scoffing mockingly with its arm raised. Haisei locked eyes with the creature, gritting his teeth with preparation as he finally reached for something deeper within his soul.

"Fine, let's get crazy…"

"Krbllll!~" The curse chortled happily, dropping its arm and unleashing hell upon the six year old chil–sorcerer.
