Sunfyre tears its gaze away from the burned husk of a building and looks around, having destroyed the monolith trespassing in its new domain.
For now it decides to ignore the many armored rovers trying to flee the area as fast as possible in favor of something that requires his immediate attention.
It's draconic draconic pride flares at the audacity of the pokémon lining up to fight against it.
It has been a long time since such weak pokémon dared to challenge it. Sunfyre decides to quench its hunger with these defiant creatures first.
With a flap of its wings, it dashes towards the pokémon.
And then the battleground erupts into action.
The humans teleport away from the dragon's line of sight, some pokémon take towards the sky carrying other pokémon on their backs.
A legion of fire and water pokémon scatter all over the battlefield, teleported into place by the Psychics.
Rock and Ground pokémon ravage the rocky terrain below, carving out huge trenches and tunnels creating a blanket of dust in the process.
Huge boulders are erected to hide from Salamence's sights.
An Infernape beats its chest and jumps tens of meters into the sky as high as possible and shoots a torrent of flames at the incoming dragon.
The Flamethrower hits Sunfyre right in the face but it continues to fly towards them unfazed.
Sunfyre growls furiously, eying the Infernape. It gathers flames of its own within its maws when suddenly a pressurized jet of water hits it in the face which is then followed by another one.
While falling back towards the ground, Infernape gets a telepathic command from its trainer and it fires an even bigger Flamethrower at the pillar of water fired by Seth's Azaumaril and David's Simipour.
The fire comes in contact with the water and stream starts rising. Soon the dragon is covered in a dense mist.
Taking advantage of Sunfyre's temporary inability to see them clearly. Jacob's Graveler, a massive boulder pokémon with four arms, picks up a huge rock and hurls it towards Sunfyre.
The rock hits Sunfyre straight in its eyes but fails to penetrate anything beyond the membrane, but the attack still makes it blink.
David's Flareon, a four-legged fire pokémon covered in reddish-orange fur, unleashes a torrent of Ember towards the sky.
Ember hits Synfyre in its face and keeps burning, causing a mild stinging sensation to Sunfyre.
All the water pokémon at the battlefield unleash huge pumps of water at Sunfyre, followed by all the fire pokémon led by Infernape and Houndoom, who fire huge torrents of Flamethrower at the water, blanketing the entire battlefield in a cloud of mist.
Sunfyre lets out a roar of frustration at not being able to see anything and flaps its wings.
Flying pokémon can bend the very air to their will and the Salamence just happens to be one. Just as the flap of Sunfyre's wings clears away most of the surrounding mist, its face is pelted by sharp boulders thrown by the Rock and Fighting pokémon present there.
Rocks of all kind shatters against Sunfyre's dragon scales.
And then a barrage Flamethrowers and Hydro Pumps regenerates the mist again.
Sunfyre howls in rage, only for some Grass and Poison type pokémon riding flying pokémon to throw Sleep Powder, and other poisonous substances into its open mouth.
Gengar riding on top of a Staraptor's back vomits out a dark purple sludge of poison gas at the dragon.
The poisonous gas ignites in contact with the fire and makes Salamence chokes on its own flames, making it feel a stinging burn in its throat.
Before Psychic pokémon like Hypno, Swoobat and Mr Mime and other attack its mind with psionic energy.
Through the corner of its eye Salamence sees translucent beams of Hypnosis and Confusion Rays.
While Sunfyre fights the invasion of its mind it sees the dense mist around it turn bright blue for a second before it hears the crackling of thunder.
Plasma collides against it's body, and to add insult to injury, the part of its body the hot plasma assaults just so happens to be its right side, where some of its dragon scales missing.
Sunfyre howls mostly in annoyance and frustration rather than in pain.
The potency of the toxin in Sleep Power is not strong enough to put a pokémon of Sunfyre's caliber to sleep, neither are the psychics powerful enough to overpower its will
As Sunfyre's body is harassed by fire, water and thunder at the same time, it manages to overpower the Psychic pokémon and starts to retaliate.
Flames erupt from the dragon's entire body, burning the Sleep Power in the air, the flying pokémon swiftly try to retreat, most succeed but one gets caught in the blast radius and becomes the first casualty of the fight.
As the charred corpse of a pokémon with big butterfly wings falls towards the ground, Sunfyre charges a Hyper Beam and furiously beats its wings, and the moment the mist goes away it unleashes it at the first pokémon it sees on the ground, a Houndoom.
Who is teleported away by a Hypno just in the nick of time, the Hyper Beam hits empty ground instead, cratering it, adding huge amount of dust and debris to the newly generated mist but killing no one.
Salamance knows what the pokémon are trying to do. When commanded by humans no pokémon fights with honor and dignity.
The humans commanding these ignoble creatures down there think that if they keep this up long enough, they might stand a chance at survival.
They amuse themselves with false hope of outlasting it. Thinking no matter how powerful, even a Calamity pokémon can't fight forever, not to mention one that was hibernating without food or water for months.
But they are wrong, dragons don't fight because they need to, they fight because that's what they do, and they are very good at it.
And now Sunfyre gets serious.
The pokémon try to create the mist again but Salamence uses its Flying type moves to generate random air currents that keep the Flamethrowers and Hydro Pumps from colliding against each other.
Sunfyre charges another Hyper Beam and this time the psychics won't be fast enough.
Instead of unleashing the attack at one single point, Sunfyre makes a sweeping motion with its head as if someone was playing with a flashlight.
The Hyper Beam hits David and some of his pokémon on the ground, who vaporize instantly, not even their bones are left behind.
"No!" Jacob screams in pain, giving away his location.
He looks at the Salamence with an undisguised hatred before loudly yelling, "Quarry!, Drill into that motherfucker! Kill it!"
Seth teleports near him grabs hold of his shoulders and yells at him, "What the fuck are you doing? That is not going to help, you need to follow the fucking plan!"
Jacob screams, "Fuck the plan, it killed my friend. We aren't going to win anyway, so I'm going make sure it never forgets us."
Excadrill jump into the air, turns in its drill form, and spins furiously, trying to burrow into the dragon from where some of its dragon scales are missing, but Sunfyre just swipes its sharp claws at Excadrill, bisecting it in half.
Excadrill falls to the ground in two pieces, painting some of the pokémon down below in its blood and guts.
Seeing that, Jacob grows even more enraged and orders all of his pokémon to barrage Sunfyre with all kinds of attacks.
David's remaining pokémon also go berserk, rushing forth in a mad dash to avenge their trainer's death.
Any semblance of order that was keeping them alive till now is forgotten by a need to get revenge for their fallen.
They know they can't beat a Calamity pokémon, so might as well make it hurt.
Skarmory hardens its beak and its wings as it dashes full speed at its trainer's killer.
Luxray follows Skarmory in its suicidal charge against Sunfyre, channeling electrical energy into condensed ball and unleashing it against Sunfyre.
The swirling sphere of plasma collides against with Sunfyre, but the electricity doesn't even manage to graze its dragon scales.
Sunfyre opens its mouth as it turns to face the incoming Skarmory and fires a blue Flamethrower at it, melting the entire metallic exoskeleton of Skarmory.
Sunfyre descends and stomps at the ground with full force, sending tremors throughout the battlefield, and collapsing the tunnels underneath, burying all the pokémon making use of the tunnels to move throughout this makeshift arena.
The Luxray fires another Thunder Ball at Sunfyre, who tears through both the thunder and the pokémon with its huge claws.
Seth orders all the of the remaining pokémon to scatter, not wanting to give the dragon a chance to kill all of them at once.
Sunfyre sees the pokémon running away by chain teleporting all over the battlefield, and decides he has had enough of this.
Flaring its majestic wings, the Calamity class dragon jets towards the sky, leaving nothing but carnage in its wake.
It pierces through the gray clouds and stops under the starry sky.
And for the first time since its hibernation, Sunfyre taps into the special force only dragons can use.
From each and every single cell in its body, Sunfyre collects huge amounts of dragon force for one single attack. One attack to end them all.
Sunfyre charges a big blue sphere which keeps getting bigger and bigger until it is the same size as the humongous Salamence.
An entire minute later, the dragon unleashes the attack towards the sky.
Tremendous amounts of energy travels towards the stars and then splits into hundreds of smaller projectiles, which all descend upon the battlefield.
Every pokémon and human on the ground feels an instinctive sense of danger that compels them to look up at the blinding light.
They see hundreds of energy projectiles about to bring death and destruction upon the earth.
Draco Meteor collides with the Earth, where there was a mountainous terrain before, there are only craters now.
Part of the terrain becomes flowing magma, part of it becomes glass.
Seth and Jacob are dead, they were instantly vaporised along with every single one of their pokémon except Gengar, who manged to phase into the ground, and Houndoom, who managed to dodge the incoming projectiles by nothing but sheer luck.
Sunfyre then turns its gaze towards the armored vehicle heading towards its nest.
