Jubilife Breeding Center

Wayne, Cynthia, and Lance gathered to address the issue of Shaymin and the Pokemon Hunters.

After using Viridian Power to read Shaymin's memories, Lance made a suggestion to Wayne.

"Would you like to become an investigator? You have such potential. Even graduating investigators don't possess your caliber."

Reporting to the police, disabling vehicles, and giving commands—every action Wayne took had been the correct choice.

Upon hearing Lance suggest becoming a League Investigator, Wayne's heart wavered for a brief moment.

But it wasn't meant for him.

He still had responsibilities at the Breeding Center. Learning breeding knowledge and expanding the Breeding Center was his primary occupation.

Wayne could step in when he witnessed injustice, but he couldn't fight evil daily like Lance.

"I apologize, but I cannot accept."

"But..."

Before Lance could finish his persuasion, Wayne countered, "Didn't I save Shaymin even without being an investigator?"

Cynthia gently advised, "Lance, are you constantly fighting crime everywhere just because you're the Chief Investigator?"

Lance suddenly stood up.

"No, that's because of passion!"

"Even if I weren't an investigator, I would never stand idly by in the face of any crime."

Suddenly, a dazzling light shone brilliantly behind Lance!

"Talk is talk, but is it necessary to provide your own special effects?"

Lance quietly withdrew his Viridian Power.

This definitely wasn't something he actively emitted, but rather the Viridian Power truly responding to Lance's resolve.

Hearing Wayne's complaint, Cynthia couldn't help but smile, then looked at Wayne, who was gently stroking Shaymin.

"Breeding work is his passion."

Hearing Cynthia's words, Lance was stunned.

"Is that so? I see. I was presumptuous."

Wayne nodded. "Even if I'm not an investigator, I will never stand idly by when it's time to act."

Lance's lips curved into a slight smile. "Good, then..."

Just then, the ground suddenly trembled slightly, and faint explosions could be heard.

"An Earthquake?"

"What's happening?"

"No, it's more like a Pokemon move."

Wayne, Cynthia, and Lance stood up simultaneously.

It's Champion time!

Ahem.

One ordinary person, two Champions.

"Don't move yet."

Wayne and Lance said in unison.

"If we go out now, we'll alert them, and it'll be difficult to catch the real culprits."

This was Lance's consideration.

Wayne, on the other hand, had another consideration. His Sky Eye monitoring system showed him what was happening outside.

At the Breeding Center's main entrance, masked, goggle-wearing bikers in leather jackets appeared.

There were seven of them, all holding baseball bats.

Because they weren't wearing helmets, Wayne could clearly see their hair was red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple.

Holy cow, Rainbow Squad!

But... they didn't appear to be Pokemon Hunters.

Their Pokemon were causing a commotion at the entrance.

The subtle tremors felt on the ground were precisely caused by the Nidoking of the leader, who used Earthquake.

"Kinsley and Gardevoir!"

Wayne first checked the front desk monitor, confirming that Gardevoir was protecting Kinsley, then pulled up the main entrance monitor.

"They don't seem to be Pokemon Hunters."

Just a glance, and Lance immediately made a judgment. "No, Pokemon Hunters are never this conspicuous."

Watching Alan, Incineroar, and Lucario, who were training, rush toward the main entrance, Wayne also rushed out. "I'll handle this. You two stay here for now."

Cynthia nodded slightly. "Alright."

Lance smiled. "He's quite good at commanding, isn't he? I told you he'd make a good investigator."

Cynthia said nothing, only watching the monitor.

As Wayne rushed out, Nurse Joy, Leon, and Fumie were evacuating staff and customers.

"Son! Where are you going?"

"To protect the Breeding Center."

[Ding! You have a new side quest...]

"Oh, right, Dad—call the police!"

"Be careful, don't overdo it! Never mind, dear—I'm going too. You call the police."

Leon casually grabbed the shovel he used to teach Pokemon how to dig and ran after him.

"You be careful too."

"Don't worry!"

At the same time, Alan and Lucario had already arrived at the Breeding Center's main entrance.

Alan narrowed his eyes. "What are you doing here? Filming a movie? Alola Rainbow Squad?"

The opposing group, holding baseball bats, had fierce expressions and had just used Earthquake, clearly indicating their hostile intentions.

After Alan's questioning voice rang out, the seven bikers simultaneously dropped the beer cans in their hands.

The blue-haired one nervously swallowed.

"Big brother, he... he's so imposing!"

The red-haired one sneered and patted his baseball bat. "What are you afraid of? There are seven of us! We have Pokemon, and we have these."

The seven men grinned, holding baseball bats, and approached Alan in a fan formation.

Wayne had already reached the main entrance. "You all stay in the front desk service center—don't come out."

"Gardevoir~"

"Yes, Boss."

Originally, there was a scrawny, bespectacled male customer who, seeing this scene, stumbled and fled.

"Oh, right... call, call the police."

After running a bit further, the bespectacled man quickly pulled out his phone. "Hello, I'd like to report a crime... at the Jubilife Breeding Center..."

Like the bespectacled man, many customers who had hidden themselves also chose to call the police.

Other customers and employees raised their phones, secretly filming.

Wayne came to Alan's side. "This is a Breeding Center, not a baseball field."

Alan frowned. "Why are you here?"

"I can't just leave you here alone."

Alan looked around.

"Who said that? There are Pokemon too."

"Gao!"

"Lucario!"

"Awoo!"

Arcanine, Lucario, and Incineroar also quickly demonstrated their presence.

As for Metagross and the others?

Lucario had sent them to find reinforcements.

(Stall for time first.)

Wayne looked at Lucario, deep in thought.

The red-haired one lightly tapped his palm with the baseball bat.

"That's right—it's the Breeding Center we're looking for."

"Please make an appointment for Pokemon grooming. Your Pokemon's fur is dry and dull. They do need care."

Alan mumbled softly, "Are you having a professional relapse?"

Wayne deliberately coughed.

"Cough, I'm used to it."

The yellow-haired one, with a greasy, powdered face, pointed his baseball bat at Wayne and sharply shouted:

"Don't stand there grinning and telling jokes! It's your own fault for being too ostentatious.

My brothers and I want to get a new car, but we don't have enough money, so we can only come here to rob.

Pay up, or it's normal to lose a leg or two... Heh heh."

As soon as the red-haired one finished speaking, the remaining members burst into wild laughter, even their Pokemon joined in.

Wayne and Alan's anger surged.

Lance sneered. "They're all repeat offenders."

Cynthia's expression was calm, but her index finger lightly tapped her arm as she crossed her arms, showing that her mood was far from tranquil.

"Lucario." (That's enough.)

"Now, you're the ones who won't be leaving."

Seeing Wayne and Alan's suddenly changed expressions, the pupils of the seven rainbow-colored individuals sharply contracted.
