Kade's POV
"Walk out that door and I'll have you locked up." I announced to Mael.
However, I already knew that he had made up his mind.
I could see the look on his face. Nothing was convincing him to stay and help solve the case.
There were two options, have him actually locked up or let him walk away and figure out what to do next from there.
"Like I said, you can lock me up but this isn't my path." Mael reiterated, looking sure that even if I locked him up, he isn't going to regret his decision.
So, for once, I decided to meet him where he stood and ask him,
"Then whose path is this?"
Even Cassian eyed me the moment the words left my mouth.
It's not a path that I would normally take, but I do feel that if Mael won't be useful to us in such a dire moment, then he ought to know someone else who could be.
His eyes widen with surprise as well when he realizes what I'm asking.
I figure that there's no need to try and hold him hostage, when he can also help us indirectly.
