Chapter 22 - Threat

Season 2 – Part two

As the sun rose and its light spread across the earth covered in grass and trees, a lone figure could be seen flying above the vast green forest.

There was clear disgust written across his face.

And his destination was...

The Kingdom of Arlin.

More specifically, the royal palace.

It did not take long before the mysterious individual arrived.

He was dressed in elegant attire, and his white hair made him stand out among everyone present.

One of Arlin's nobles whispered:

Noble: "Who is that? He looks like a noble, but I've never seen him before."

Another noble replied quietly:

Noble: "It's obvious he's a dragon because of those shining horns. At least he doesn't resemble that black-haired demon."

At that moment, a man with golden hair stepped forward.

His emerald-green eyes matched his flawless pale complexion perfectly.

His noble bearing was unmistakable.

It was Duke Eulius of Arlin.

He looked at the two nobles with visible irritation.

Eulius (angrily):

"What are you discussing, you insignificant nobles?"

The two immediately trembled.

Nobles:

"N-Nothing, Duke Eulius!"

They hurried away.

Eulius then approached the white-haired man and introduced himself proudly.

Eulius:

"Allow me to introduce myself to the mentor of the great King Kaith Asterion."

"Welcome, Reinhardt."

"I am Eulius, Duke of Arlin."

Reinhardt looked at him with obvious disdain.

Reinhardt:

"I dislike schemers, you bastard."

"Do you think I don't know that you're all waiting for an opportunity to crush our kingdom?"

Eulius responded coldly.

Eulius:

"The fact that your kingdom is weak is hardly our fault."

"We simply require more land for our kingdom."

A green aura began spreading from Eulius.

It was the Aura of Nature.

Yet it carried hostility directed toward Reinhardt.

However—

The aura suddenly dispersed.

In its place emerged a golden aura mixed with emptiness itself.

The Aura of Stars.

Intertwined with the Void.

Eulius felt his body tremble involuntarily.

Eulius (thinking):

What is this...?

Why does his aura make my body shiver?

Why is it so terrifying?

It feels as though the warmth is being drained from my very body.

This person is truly frightening.

Without hesitation, Eulius bowed.

His voice shook with nervousness.

Eulius:

"I apologize for my foolishness earlier, Lord Reinhardt."

Reinhardt looked down upon him with contempt tinged with pity.

Reinhardt:

"Stand up."

"I have no need for an apology from someone as weak and incompetent as you."

Eulius quickly straightened himself and guided Reinhardt toward the throne room for an audience with King Arax.

Upon reaching the doors of the throne hall, Eulius departed.

Reinhardt entered alone.

He did not bow.

Instead, he stared directly at Arax and spoke calmly.

Reinhardt (coldly):

"Arax."

"From the moment I entered your territory, I assume you realized that I surpass you by an overwhelming margin."

"I only came here to warn you."

"I could destroy your kingdom with ease."

"But for both your sake and mine..."

"Do not participate in this war."

"Because if you do..."

"I will kill you in the most horrifying way imaginable."

Arax's expression twisted with anger.

Arax:

"What nonsense are you spouting, you bastard?!"

"Do you even understand what you're saying?!"

"You're practically telling me to surrender the war!"

Reinhardt merely scoffed.

Reinhardt:

"You have a son."

"An incomplete dragon."

"Yet he already rivals complete dragons."

"And don't think I'm a fool."

"I've simply chosen to ignore Arleox's assistance to you."

Arax froze.

Sweat began forming on his forehead.

Arax (nervously):

"What... exactly do you mean by that?"

A faint smile appeared on Reinhardt's face.

Reinhardt:

"He never even told you his name?"

"How amusing."

"I'm talking about the External Ruler, you fool."

Arax's breathing became heavier.

His palms grew damp.

Arax:

"How do you know all of this?!"

Reinhardt turned away dismissively.

Reinhardt:

"That is none of your concern."

"Simply follow the warning I gave you."

Silence filled the throne room.

Several tense seconds passed.

Finally—

Arax lowered his head slightly.

Arax (hesitantly):

"I... will consider it, Reinhardt."

Reinhardt glanced back one last time.

His eyes carried an unmistakable threat.

Reinhardt:

"I sincerely hope..."

"You choose the wiser option."

Without another word, Reinhardt left the royal palace and departed from Arlin.

After he was gone, Arax clenched his fists tightly.

Anger and confusion filled his face.

Arax (furiously):

"That damned bastard!"

"How can a Royal Dragon appear here?"

"He doesn't even belong to the royal family of Lexiria!"

"Who in the world... is he?!"
