Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO

The lowest rank in the entire Empire. A person who had awakened as an F Rank at eighteen had almost no future in terms of combat or high-level professions.

The Mental Core was the foundation of every citizen.

At eighteen years old, every person in the Interstellar Empire experienced their first Awakening.

That was the day their Mental Core fully developed and their rank was revealed.

From lowest to highest: F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, and SSS. Most citizens awakened between C and B Rank.They formed the backbone of the Empire.

Scientists.

Engineers.

Soldiers.

Teachers.

Explorers.

Those who reached A Rank were already considered exceptional talents. They were the people who stood at the peak of ordinary society.

But S Rank...That was different.

Once a person reached S Rank, their Mental Core would awaken a unique Mental Ability. An ability that belonged only to them. Some awakened abilities that could change the battlefield. Some awakened abilities that changed the course of civilization.

Telekinesis.

Mental communication.

Spatial distortion.

Elemental control.

Countless possibilities existed.

However, S Rank was rare...

Extremely rare.

Only five percent of the entire interstellar population reached that level. SS Rank was almost a legend. Only 0.00001% of the population possessed that level of power.

As for SSS Rank, there was only one confirmed human being in history.

Prince Evander Grant.

The younger brother of Emperor Caspian Grant. The youngest Supreme General of the Imperial Armed Forces. The only human whose Mental Core had awakened at the legendary SSS level.

A monster among monsters.

A being whose existence alone was enough to change the balance of the galaxy.

And yet, standing before the Truth Seer today was Yu Weiwei. An F Rank...

Someone who was almost guaranteed to lose his mind.

The staff member connecting the wires looked at him with sympathy.

Was this really necessary?

Wouldn't exile have been kinder?

Wouldn't a clean death have been more merciful?

Yu Weiwei ignored their pity.

Right now, he was excited, extremely excited.

Finally.

After hundreds of years, he could clear his name. He could throw away the disgusting reputation attached to him, he could stop being the Empire's most hated person. And become a salted fish...

Yu Weiwei grinned with excitement and the people watching were more convinced he had gone crazy.

In his previous life, he had been too foolish.

Too stubborn.

Too blinded by love.

He believed Si Tian loved him.

He believed that if he endured enough, if he proved himself enough, eventually Si Tian would look at him. But love had blinded him.

Si Tian had never loved him. The person Si Tian loved was Yu Yuan.

The gentle, kind, perfect Yu Yuan.

Unfortunately, because of the marriage arrangement between their families, Si Tian had been forced to become Yu Weiwei's fiancé.

And Yu Weiwei...

Had hated Yu Yuan.

He hated the person who had stolen the love he wanted.

He targeted Yu Yuan again and again.

He made accusations.

He caused trouble.

He became the villain everyone hated.

But the truth was most of those accusations were false. Yu Weiwei had known. He knew he was being framed, he knew people misunderstood him.

But his foolishness and pride prevented him from explaining.

He thought one day Si Tian would understand. One day everyone would see the truth.

How wrong he had been. The system that accompanied him thoughout his transmigration journey was right, he had low EQ. To put it nicely he was naive, to put it bluntly he was stupid.

Yu Weiwei stared at Yu Yuan whose expression was almost collapsing, the Yu Yuan who always looked gentle and elegant looked terrible, like someone whose mental health has collapsed.

Yu Weiwei smiled recalling how he got into this situation. The reason everything collapsed was because of one person.

Yu Yuan's secret lover.

That man had grown tired of hiding. He threatened to expose everything Yu Yuan had done. The confrontation became violent.

And in the chaos...

Yu Yuan accidentally killed him.

Yu Weiwei had witnessed everything. He had followed Yu Yuan that day because he suspected something was wrong.

He had seen Yu Yuan loose control of his emotions then attacking his lover who was unguarded.The lover probably never imagined that Yi Yuan would be so ruthless.

Or perhaps he knew, but he never imagined this ruthlessness would be directed at him.

When he saw the scene he tried to call for help. But before he could, Yu Yuan turned everything around.

Suddenly, Yu Weiwei became the murderer.

The person everyone hated.

The evidence.

The witnesses.

Everything seemed to point toward him.

And without proof, he became guilty in the eyes of the entire Empire.

Yu Weiwei closed his eyes, he had died a miserable death in his previous life. If not for the system that had taken his soul and sent him to complete countless missions in different worlds, he would never have received this second chance.

But this time, things would be different.

He didn't want revenge.

He didn't want power.

He didn't want fame.

Because he wasn't smart enough, wanting those things meant faster death, he only wanted a peaceful retirement.

A comfortable life.

Delicious food.

A quiet planet.

And no more annoying people, especially Si Tian.

Thinking about his first life, Yu Weiwei almost sighed.

How could his eighteen-year-old self have been so stupid? What exactly was inside his head back then?

The staff finished connecting the cables.

"Yu Weiwei, are you ready?"

Yu Weiwei opened his eyes.

"Yes."

The Truth Seer's surface lit up, blue energy flowed through the cables. The entire courtroom became silent, even the livestream comments slowed down.

Everyone watched.

Everyone waited.

Some waited to see justice.

Some waited to see punishment.

Some waited to see the famous Yu Drama Queen finally break.

Before activating the device, Caspian glanced at Yu Weiwei.

"Yu Weiwei." His voice carried through the hall.

"If you are proven innocent of all accusations, I will grant you three wishes."

The courtroom froze.

The livestream exploded.

Even Yu Weiwei stared in surprise.

"Really?" His eyes immediately brightened.

Caspian looked at him.

For some reason, he suddenly felt that maybe the Truth Seer wasn't the thing he should worry about. Maybe Yu Weiwei had really lost his mind.

"I keep my word." Caspian replied seriously.

Yu Weiwei immediately smiled.

"Then my first wish is to dissolve my engagement with the Si family."

Silence.

"My second wish is to cut ties with the Yu family."

More silence.

"And my third wish..."

Yu Weiwei's eyes sparkled.

"I want Sea Sky Planet."

The entire Empire went quiet for four seconds.

Then— the livestream exploded.

{...What?}

{Did Yu Drama Queen just ask to cancel his engagement?!}

{Wait, forget that! He asked for a useless F-rank planet?!}

{I can understand leaving the Yu family since that group of family are hard to describe but Sea Sky Planet?!}

{That planet has nothing! No mines! No rare resources! No strategic value!}

{The slap really damaged him! I knew it!}

The comments rambled off as they were in shock, and the courtroom became noisy, most in disbelief.

Even Caspian was stunned.

He had expected revenge.

He had expected wealth.

He had expected something related to the Si family. But a useless planet? What was wrong with this child?

Yu Weiwei looked at the stunned expressions around him and blinked.

"What?"

He tilted his head innocently.

"Is there something wrong with my wishes?"

The entire courtroom went silent.

Even the livestream comments seemed to pause for a moment.

Then—

{Something wrong?!}

{Yu Drama Queen, are you asking seriously?!}

{You have a chance to ask His Majesty for anything! Wealth! Status! Resources! And you want a useless planet?!}

{Maybe he really did go crazy after that slap.}

{I was starting to think he had changed... Never mind. He's still strange.}

Yu Weiwei ignored the comments, they didn't understand. Of course they wouldn't. In the eyes of the Empire, Sea Sky Planet was worthless.

An F-rank planet located at the edge of imperial territory.

No rare minerals.

No valuable energy sources.

No military importance.

A planet that had been abandoned because it offered nothing. But Yu Weiwei knew something they didn't. Sea Sky Planet was one of the few places in the entire Empire with naturally fertile soil.

In an era where humanity had expanded across countless galaxies, natural resources were no longer the problem, food was.

Most citizens of the Empire had never tasted naturally grown food, they survived on nutrient solutions and synthetic meals created in laboratories.

Convenient.

Efficient.

But completely lacking in soul.

Yu Weiwei had traveled through countless worlds during his previous life and he has tasted countless delicacies, his tongue had long become spoiled. If he wanted a peaceful retirement, how could he ignore his stomach?

A farming planet was far more valuable to him than some useless treasures.

Besides, a quiet planet far away from everyone?

Perfect.

Caspian looked at Yu Weiwei for several seconds.

Then he sighed.

"Alright."
