"What do you mean, no?" Elion demanded immediately, his voice slicing through the charged air with sharp, barely restrained irritation as he pivoted toward Ysara. His posture stiffened, shoulders squared in clear defiance.
The room, already thick with suffocating tension, somehow grew even heavier, as if the very walls were closing in around us. The atmosphere crackled with unspoken threats and fragile alliances, every breath feeling like it might ignite the powder keg we were all standing on.
Ysara remained poised at the doorway like winter incarnate, elegant, unyielding, and coldly beautiful beneath her flowing blue robes that shimmered faintly in the dim light. The Sentinels stood silently behind her like obedient shadows, their armored forms rigid and ready to strike at the slightest command. Her piercing eyes remained locked onto Nyx's fragile figure on the bed, unblinking and intense.
