Chapter 115 - Chapter 117: Crap, I'm Gonna Lose This Round

With the sound of the final blade piercing through a chest, this near-unilateral slaughter was finally drawing to a close.

It wasn't that the Battle Sisters were too weak; these crazy women, proficient in combat skills, could efficiently complete tasks assigned by the Imperium.

But compared to an Inquisitor who had been systematically trained by the Imperium from childhood to master psychic powers, even a complete Battle Sister squad truly wasn't enough.

The fallen sister spat out a large amount of bloody foam. The vermilion blood, polluted by the Chaos God, trickled down her pale neck. The extreme contrast of white and red created a visually impactful scene.

"That's the last one."

Behind her, Kenmei Isayama slowly withdrew his chainsword, the blade now dyed crimson. Losing her support, the fallen sister collapsed to the ground with a thud.

The silk cloth covering her eyes slipped off at this moment, revealing a pair of hazy eyes. These eyes had once been gouged out by a Chaos Daemon; it was thanks to Slaanesh's power that she could see the world again.

But seeing her sisters dying one after another, falling into pools of blood in miserable states...

In her final moments, she murmured softly:

"Was our choice wrong back then?"

"Who knows."

Kenmei swung the blade downward, flinging all the blood on it into the slash marks on the ground. Only after the blade and chain were spotless again did he sheath it.

He didn't know why these Battle Sisters would abandon the honor of being "Daughters of the Emperor," but with their level of naivety, even if they hadn't turned to Chaos, they would sooner or later have been swallowed by heretics, Xenos, or other evils.

In this desperate world, the only thing ordinary people could do was pray to the Emperor. But if they abandoned even that faith in their hearts, they would undoubtedly only step closer to the abyss of death.

"Now let me see what kind of secret is worth exposing a full Battle Sister squad just to keep buried."

A traitor Inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus and traitor Battle Sisters, both fallen due to the Prince of Pleasure. If there wasn't any connection between the two, Kenmei would eat sht.

Kenmei crouched down, removed the psychic barrier previously covering Tosak Rome, and placed his hand on the man's head.

As Kenmei chanted a spell silently in his heart, a different change occurred on the field.

Sorcery and psychic spells were essentially the same, but using the term "sorcery" instantly gave it a flavor of evil power, especially when unleashed by Kenmei using this high-level Psyker body.

Terrifying black-red lightning ravaged Kenmei's hand, converging rapidly like proliferating muscle cells into solidified black tendrils.

These terrifying tendrils of varying thickness slowly invaded Tosak Rome through his eyes, nose, mouth, ears—any orifice that could reach the brain. The thick ones were the size of corn cobs, while the thin ones were about the width of a finger.

Against the backdrop of the bloody Battle Sister corpses nearby, it gave the impression of an evil sacrificial ritual in progress. If a second person were present to witness this, they would think this was no Inquisitor, but clearly a high-ranking Daemon of the Chaos Legions.

Even Kenmei, the caster, felt a chill in his heart watching it. He hadn't been this "heretical" when he cast it on that bastard who had become a servo-skull earlier.

But think about it: is a Level 1 Fireball cast by a mage apprentice the same as one cast by an Archmage? The former is a small fireball; the latter is a nuke.

Kenmei's half-baked psychic level couldn't unleash the full effect of Ahriman's spells, but Macarnos Elfman's psychic level was passably adequate.

Under the pressure of the sorcery, Tosak Rome could only open his mouth wide, unable to even scream. His eyes, nose, and ears bled profusely and continuously, looking extremely horrific.

There was no helping it; these tendrils had to connect with the brain, so the process was rather rough.

Kenmei directly invaded Tosak Rome's mental world. It was pitch black all around, save for a door shimmering with fleshy pink light accompanied by a purplish-red glow.

This massive door at the bottom was locked tight. Kenmei jumped on it twice, but there was no other movement.

The heavy door, fully a hundred meters wide, was carved with various poems praising indulgence and hedonism, luring one to depravity. In the very center was a bizarre symbol combining male and female characteristics.

Kenmei recognized it as the representative symbol of Slaanesh, the Prince of Pleasure, typically used to display Slaanesh's hermaphroditic nature. One could imagine the complexity of the Warp Chaos God's composition, with various blasphemous chaotic attributes mixed together.

This door wasn't a creation of Slaanesh, but a replica of the main gate of Slaanesh's Palace, constructed by Slaaneshi fanatics based on legends.

Kenmei had seen Inquisition records—stuff that an Inquisitor like him, who hadn't even served a century, shouldn't have access to.

First attacked by a Battle Sister squad, and now seeing this door—all to prevent him from viewing Tosak Rome's memories.

He couldn't help but want to ask the person behind this:

"What the hell are you afraid of?"

Kenmei placed his hand on the heavy door, and violent blood-colored energy instantly erupted from his palm.

"Huh?"

In an instant, a blood-red cross-shaped beam rose in the pitch-black night like a sun, illuminating the dark sky as bright as day.

With just a single strike of Kenmei's sorcerous energy, the indestructible heavy iron door was completely destroyed. Fragments of the door rained down with a rumble.

Below lay Tosak Rome's memories. Kenmei fell alongside the burning boulders around him.

But at this moment, an unknown change occurred. If the pink and dark purple light seen earlier was the glow of fireflies, then what appeared now was magnificent light like the sun itself.

Kenmei wanted to escape, but it was too late.

His surroundings, originally Tosak Rome's memory palace, were now completely submerged by this vast, evil power.

Something terrifying seemed to have descended from the void.

[WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!]

Even the [Warhammer Simulator] began to sound the alarm, frantically prompting Kenmei to cut off the psychic connection immediately; there might still be hope.

[Warning: Sudden and significant increase in Warp concentration detected in this area.]

[Warning: You have entered ??? Divine Realm (Super-Super High Risk Area).]

[Warning: If this continues, the Host has a 99.9% chance of suffering Chaos corruption! (Note: This process is irreversible!)]

Kenmei couldn't pay attention to the various warnings from the System because, inexplicably, the overlapping laughter of countless young girls rang in his ears. That coquettish laughter contained a decadent power that made one's soul sink and become muddled.

[Suggestion: Please terminate this simulation immediately!!!]

Bean-sized beads of sweat rolled down Kenmei's forehead.

"Crap. I'm gonna lose this round."
