After Wen Ying's group left, the little boy sat in the Taishi Chair. He shut the door—a door that had stood open for decades.
Faint light shone through, casting a large shadow.
A black silhouette emerged from within that shadow. It began as a formless mass, growing larger and larger until it took on the shape of an adult.
But its body was incorporeal.
Its face was indistinct, and the voice that came from it was raspy. "Do you really believe what those humans said? Don't you forget what you've suffered!"
The little boy was sullenly silent.
'He didn't believe them... but he wanted to.'
Every child longed for their mother's love.
'But he had never received it. Why shouldn't he be allowed to yearn for it?'
