With that, Jane Sterling scanned the area. Seeing no sign of Susan Quinn, she asked,
"Where's Susan Quinn?"
Luna Nash replied.
"Oh, Susan... Her parents picked her up. Said they were taking her to some cocktail party."
At the mention of this, Luna Nash pouted.
"Sigh, I have no idea what her parents are thinking. They're always making her parade herself around at those tacky cocktail parties. People in the know understand they want her to be seen by all the rich young masters and find a great catch. But people who don't know any better would think they're desperate to sell their daughter off."
Jane Sterling recalled what Susan Quinn's parents looked like on registration day and couldn't help but purse her lips.
That evening, she remembered that she would be visiting Joy Fischer's home the next day.
