Zoe Pierce parted her lips, but Aaron Xavier had already turned away.
His hand reached out, however, and he tilted his head, silently gesturing for her to take it.
She grabbed his hand instinctively. In what felt like the blink of an eye, Aaron Xavier led her back to where they first started.
"Zoe, we should go back."
Aaron Xavier released her hand, his voice low and deep.
'He was the one who wanted to watch, and he was the one who got all worked up from it.'
'If he stayed with Zoe Pierce any longer, he wouldn't be able to control himself.'
'This was obviously wrong. They were out in the open, after all. And those two from The Empire were an official couple.'
'But they didn't have that kind of status.'
'He was just a temporary boyfriend, a fact all five of them silently acknowledged.'
'The risk was too great. He didn't want to cause her any trouble. It was better to head back for now.'
Just from the suppressed tone of his voice, Zoe Pierce knew what was happening.
