Her Intelligent Brain chimed, and Zoe Pierce suddenly realized it had been a long time since she had last contacted Ryan Jacobs.
After reporting that she was safe to Ryan Jacobs, she noticed in a daze that Director Quinn wasn't with Miles Sherman and the others.
"Where's Director Quinn?" Zoe Pierce asked as she stood up, her voice somewhat hoarse.
"He saw someone a moment ago," Miles Sherman said, "and told us to wait here."
Thinking about it, they couldn't be sure if Director Quinn was hallucinating or had actually seen someone.
He furrowed his brow. They had been too careless. Who would have thought a planet like Gorbog would have such a bizarre place?
Zoe Pierce said nothing.
'She didn't know whether she should be relieved that Director Quinn wasn't here, that no one else had seen what Chase Shaw had just done to her.'
At least the incident hadn't escalated.
