Shen Qing paused for a moment, then her eyes curved into a smile and she quickened her pace, running toward him.
The man had clearly already seen her. His pair of coolly beautiful phoenix eyes stared straight at her as he slowly extended his right hand.
But Shen Qing didn't take his hand. Instead, she threw herself right into his arms. She felt his body stiffen slightly, and she looked up at him with a beaming smile. "Have you been waiting long?"
Yu Jiuqing pulled back his outstretched hand and wrapped it tightly around her waist. He looked down, his gaze deep, and his clear voice was tinged with hoarseness as he said softly, "Yes. A very long time."
It was as if he were only talking about waiting for the past few days.
And yet, it also seemed to hint at something more.
Shen Qing, however, deliberately chose the lighter interpretation. "Sorry about that. Your son isn't easy to fool, you know. It took quite a bit of effort to get him to be okay with me coming to see you."
