"You should've just stayed home and tidied up the house. What are you doing running over here in this heat?" The old woman, afraid her daughter might not understand the situation and accidentally expose her, quickly pulled the girl into the shade. "Have you eaten yet?"
She had left breakfast warming in the pot before she left this morning, but she had no idea if her daughter had eaten it.
