Yuan Si looked around and decided it would be better to give her mother a demonstration. She walked over to the chicken coop where a large rock was lying on the ground. She bent down and lifted it right up.
"Put it down! Put it down! Don't drop it on your foot!" Her mother jumped in fright when she saw her daughter lift such a heavy rock and quickly told her to put it down.
By the time Yuan Si actually set the rock down, her mother had processed what just happened. Her six-year-old daughter had just lifted a rock that only a grown man could move.
"Ah! Ah!" her mother cried out, completely flustered as she pointed at the rock.
Yuan Si gave a very solemn nod.
Her mother fell silent.
"Good, very good. Your training with your master wasn't for nothing." Her mother felt herself getting a little too excited, so she immediately composed herself and spoke in a tone that was both stern and gratified.
