Before they went inside, Mrs. Ai'er told Jiang Qiuqiu a little about the person she was about to meet.
"Like Old Yuan, he's rather lively. A very interesting person."
"You can call him Grandpa Fang, or Uncle Fang."
'Why could she use "or" between two titles as far apart as Grandpa and Uncle?'
Mrs. Ai'er caught Jiang Qiuqiu's confused gaze and chuckled. "He refuses to admit he's getting old."
After she said that, they came upon a small courtyard with a detached house.
This place was much smaller than the Yuan Family's home from last time. There were no flowerbeds at the entrance, and the building before them was only two stories tall. The decor wasn't lavish—it was plain, really. It was even a bit smaller than the Starry Sky Wander where she lived.
Mrs. Ai'er must have been a frequent visitor. The courtyard was empty, but she confidently walked over to a clock hanging on the right-hand wall, tapped it a few times with a small mallet, and a person emerged from the house.
