In past years, the Food Section's rankings were never very high. First, there was never a number one streamer who could truly command the respect of all the others.
The top streamer couldn't keep the others in line, nor could they suppress the ambitions of those rising through the ranks. As a result, the Food Section's power was fragmented and insufficient to climb higher.
Second, they simply weren't strong enough. They couldn't secure a decisive advantage when PK-ing against others, leading to opponents refusing to even taste their food. On the rare occasion someone did try the food, they still didn't vote for them.
Since they couldn't get a high rank anyway, everyone became even more lax, and the internal strife was especially severe.
But this year was different.
Someone now occupied the highest peak of the mountain, looking down with proud solitude at the scattered lights below.
