"What do you mean?" Serena Summers asked, confused. "Does Koko not like the name?"
"That's right," Renee Jennings said directly. "She says it's your ex-boyfriend's name, and she wants a name of her own."
Serena Summers: "..."
She pouted. "She's just a cat. Why is she so demanding?"
Renee Jennings's brow furrowed, and her tone became more serious. "A kitten is a living creature, too. It deserves to be respected and cherished."
Serena Summers had only gotten a cat because she was bored. Respect and affection? The thought had never even crossed her mind.
'But since Renee Jennings put it that way, I guess we'll change it.'
"So what name does she want?"
Renee Jennings asked Koko, "Do you have a name you'd like?"
Koko blinked her feline eyes and said blankly, "I don't know either. Miss, can you help me think of a name?"
Renee Jennings's gaze fell on the cat's pinkish skin. A thoughtful look crossed her eyes, and she smiled. "How about we call you Pinky?"
