Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Losing a 7-on-1? Killing the Necromancer

"Mr. Su Xuan, I've found the Necromancer!" Ivsha reported.

"You found him!?" A glint of joy flashed in Su Xuan's eyes. 'I've finally found the culprit.'

"Where is he?"

"Over there!" Ivsha pointed.

Su Xuan followed her finger and saw a middle-aged man in a black robe sitting quietly in the distant stands. He was using the crowd as cover, brazenly chanting Magic and controlling the five remaining Oath Knight skeletons.

"Ivsha, can you take care of that guy?"

"I can, but I'll need a little time."

Ivsha nodded. Although her Level was far lower than the Necromancer's, he specialized in controlling the Undead; his personal combat prowess wasn't particularly impressive.

Some Necromancers were physically no different from ordinary people.

And as a Nun, Ivsha inherently possessed the Holy Light Attribute, which was a powerful counter to Necromancers.

"I'm leaving it to you. No need to take him alive," Su Xuan instructed.

"As you wish~" Ivsha nodded and immediately set off to eliminate the Necromancer.

"Mr. Su Xuan, did you find the Necromancer?" Natasha asked Su Xuan, her gaze earnest.

"Mhm."

"That's wonderful! If we eliminate that Necromancer, the controlled Oath Knight skeletons will be cut off from their Magic Power supply and gradually become immobile." Natasha breathed a long sigh of relief, as if she could already see the light of victory.

"Yes. Now we just need Rosaline to hold on."

Su Xuan nodded, his gaze turning toward the distant Rosaline, who was locked in a fierce battle with the five Oath Knight skeletons.

Whether Ivsha eliminated the Necromancer or Roxia successfully became an Oath Knight, both depended on Rosaline holding off the five Oath Knight skeletons.

Rosaline was playing the most crucial role in this mission.

And she certainly didn't disappoint Su Xuan. Her exquisite Sword Technique allowed her to hold her own even while surrounded by five Oath Knights.

The spectacular, magnificent battle captured everyone's attention, drawing constant gasps of admiration from the crowd.

"That's her Sword Technique! There's no mistake! She's Rosaline!"

"My God! Rosaline is back! The Yerman Clan's strongest Knight has returned!"

"She's back! It's all coming back!"

"Taking on the Undead spirits of seven Oath Knights all by herself! Is this the caliber of the strongest Oath Knight in a hundred years?"

"She's so badass! Knight Rosaline will always be my idol!"

"But the situation still doesn't look good. That Oath Knight with the Giant Sword was also once hailed as the strongest of them all. His power is not to be underestimated!"

"Fighting one against seven is still too difficult. We can only hope Roxia passes the White Rose's trial quickly and relieves some of this external pressure."

The crowd murmured amongst themselves, but they weren't optimistic about Rosaline's chances of defeating seven former Oath Knights.

Even though Rosaline was hailed as the most powerful Oath Knight, she couldn't avoid being put at a disadvantage under the combined assault of the five Undead Oath Knights.

And then...

CLANG!

The two-meter-plus Giant Sword slammed into the Silver Moon Longsword in Rosaline's hand like a cannonball. The violent impact made her Crystal Stone skeleton tremble slightly, but her fighting stance remained firm. However, the Rare-quality Silver Moon Longsword seemed unable to withstand the Giant Sword's assault, vibrating with a screeching groan as if it were about to shatter.

Although the Silver Moon Longsword could hold out for a while longer, it was far from enough to defeat the Oath Knight wielding the Giant Sword.

Just as Rosaline retreated to put some distance between herself and her enemies, a voice called out, "Catch!"

Immediately after, a longsword flashing with Golden light was thrown to her.

Rosaline quickly caught the sword and looked back.

It was Roxia. She had successfully passed the second round of her trial and was now giving her Oath Sword to Rosaline.

This sword had once been Rosaline's own. As the blade returned to its master's hand, a familiar feeling ignited a long-absent warmth deep within her. Even with her memories gone, Rosaline could still feel that long-lost connection.

"Watch out!"

Just as Rosaline was sensing the Power contained within the Oath Sword, two Skeleton Knights lunged at her.

Roxia had barely opened her mouth to warn her when, in the next instant—

FWOOSH!

A flash of white light shot out. The two Skeleton Knights were instantly torn to shreds by a White Gold radiance, vanishing without a trace.

"So... so strong..."

Roxia stared in shock after witnessing that single strike.

She had never imagined that the same weapon could be so devastatingly different in someone else's hands!

With a single strike, she had instantly killed two beings who had once been her fellow Oath Knights!

Snapping out of her daze, Roxia immediately ran toward the giant White Rose Petal.

Having completed the combat portion of the trial, she now had to face the trial of character. Only by passing this could she become the next Oath Knight.

"Damn it! Pu'er! Stop her!"

When the rival Guild President, Wang Qi, saw Roxia running toward the White Rose on his screen, he instantly panicked.

If Roxia became an Oath Knight, it would mean his mission had failed. He would have to restart the evaluation process for the special quest, wasting a great deal of his time and energy.

"I know! I know!"

Pu'er gritted his teeth. Of course he wanted to stop her. The problem wasn't that he didn't want to, but that he *couldn't*!

That White-Robed Knight who had suddenly appeared was simply too powerful; she had managed to withstand the assault of all his Undead.

These were the Undead he had poured all his power into creating!

He had even paid a heavy price, his own life force, for these corpses, only to be stopped by some nobody who came out of nowhere!

To ensure the mission's success, Pu'er had no choice but to use his Undead Magic, sacrificing a part of his own soul to enhance his Undeads' combat strength.

PTHOO!

Pu'er spat out a mouthful of blood, channeling his Power into the jet-black Skeleton Knight. Its All Attributes temporarily increased by 50!

The Skeleton Knight, empowered by the boost, immediately raised its Giant Sword and launched a ferocious attack against Rosaline.

"This time, your death is certain!"

Pu'er sneered. 'How could the Undead Magic I activated at the cost of part of my own soul possibly fail?'

He stared coldly at Rosaline, eagerly anticipating the moment she would be annihilated by his Skeleton Knight.

However, the words had barely left Pu'er's lips when the battle was already drawing to a close.

The jet-black Skeleton Knight may have gained greater speed and more formidable Power from the All-Attribute boost, but the one who had truly undergone a world-shaking transformation was Rosaline, now reunited with her Oath Sword.

Rosaline tightly gripped the Oath Sword, pouring her Magic Power into it.

In an instant!

The Oath Sword erupted in a blinding radiance, as if to illuminate the entire world.

Then, Rosaline swiftly swung the Oath Sword. The Golden light of the blade instantly transformed into a wave of energy that shot toward the jet-black Skeleton Knight.

It moved so fast that the creature was swallowed by the Golden wave of light before it could even react.

When the Golden light faded, the Skeleton Knight's figure had vanished, leaving behind only a pile of black ashes.

"Th-this is impossible!"

Pu'er stumbled back a step in disbelief, his eyes wide with shock.

He couldn't believe it. 'The Skeleton Knight I poured my own life force into creating, the one I even sacrificed part of my soul for, was killed in a single blow! How is this possible!?'

And just as Pu'er was reeling in panic, a Golden dagger silently pierced his heart...
