"Liam Linden, it's Faye Vaughn." Faye spoke slowly, her voice clear and gentle.
The other end of the line went silent.
After a few seconds, the mechanical voice returned, exceptionally cold. "Who is this? I don't know you."
Faye ignored him and continued, "I know what you're planning to do. You want to get revenge for me, don't you?"
The line went silent again.
Faye continued at a steady pace, "Vivian Windsor was the reason I was kidnapped and taken to the mountains. The law can't touch her, so you want to get justice for me. Am I right?"
The other end remained silent.
Faye added, "I appreciate the thought, but I don't want you to do it this way. I don't want you to do anything dangerous or illegal."
The silence on the line was heavy and oppressive.
Faye's voice grew softer, warmer. "Liam Linden, let Vivian Windsor go. I'll settle the score with her in my own way. Don't get your hands dirty."
