Mr. and Mrs. Grant returned home feeling like their brains had short-circuited. It was as if they had just heard something impossible.
One moment, they were about to go out and search for their daughter. The next, not only had she returned... she'd brought home their grandson.
'Does this even make sense? A grandson this old, popping up out of nowhere.'
The little toddler standing before them tilted his head up to look at them. Fair-skinned and clean, he was as adorable as a little dumpling, and his features did indeed resemble their daughter's.
"Grandpa, Grandma! Me is Annie! Your grandson! Mommy's baby. I love you! Making a heart for you!" After calling out to his grandparents in his piping voice, he formed a heart with his chubby little hands, a gesture the couple probably didn't understand.
