Varney
"Uh… I'm not… Can you please let me go? I'll like to leave, pleas—"
He suddenly kneaded my ass and waist, making me gasp in shock and disbelief while the felt fear thickened within me, quickly accompanied by disgust, cause what happened to asking for permission to touch someone first?
And does this guy think I'm gay? Cause I'm not. Isn't that obvious?!
But even if I was, he's not supposed to just touch me like this without permission.
"Let go of him, Ruger. He's with me." A familiar voice called from behind me and I almost sobbed at the sight of the leader, back from wherever he disappeared into.
Relief flooded my veins at once which is quite ironic since he was the one who literally put me in this situation.
"Why? I already set my eyes on him tonight." The snake shifter growled, making no move to release me.
The leader rolled his eyes. "Don't make this complicated, Ruger. Let him go if you don't want any trouble and I'm sure you know what I mean." The leader drawled almost lazily, his hands folded.
I was shocked out of my mind when the snake shifter made an offended sound before he shoved me off, then he glared daggers at the leader before he disappeared into the crowd. The snake shifter was way bigger than the leader, he definitely shouldn't have listened to the leader that easily. Unless there's something the leader meant when he threatened him.
I faced the leader while breathing hard, wondering if he had some kind of connection that aids his confidence.
"You left me by myself." I cried out before I could stop myself and he rolled his eyes, looking bored.
"That's cause I went to take care of something important, but now I'm back. So, let's go meet the person I came here to introduce you to." He turned around after he finished speaking.
"I don't wanna meet anyone. I wanna leave." I breathed out, my heart constructing in fear, already afraid he was gonna lead me to that vampire whose voice I heard in here a while ago.
"I didn't ask for your opinion, human. Let's go." He warned sharply when he glanced at me from over his shoulder and I gulped, fear swirling around and within me.
"B- but…" I tried again and he sighed and rolled his eyes, then he grabbed my wrist and tugged me forward so fast, making me stumble after him. He weaved through the grief fast and I'm guessing the reason why no one has made a fuss that I was human so far was cause most are drunk as fuck in here right now.
The leader didn't stop walking till he stopped at the side of the room which was beside a high counter where drinks were being mixed. High chairs were also around here.
"Here's the person I wanna introduce you to, he's a good friend of mine, Varney." The leader spoke after letting go of me, and I felt shocked that he just referred to me with my name. He was nodding at someone and I glanced at the person fast, and my eyes widened in shock once I took in the person's appearance.
Is this a vampire? I wondered as I stood frozen, no sound leaving my mouth.
When I noticed the leader leaving again, I almost screamed in panic, just as the guy stepped forward, offering me a grin as he held his large looking hand out. "Hi, Varney. I'm Kade. It's very nice to meet you."
That voice. It wasn't that vampire. That was the first thing that registered within me as his voice washed over me.
His voice was deep, rich and warm at the same time. He was also still waiting with his hand out so I awkwardly accepted it.
"Uh, nice to meet you too, Kade."
He grinned at my response and I suddenly felt this urge to run from him.
He was tall, and his shoulders were broad as hell. He had rich blonde hair that fell into his face— which was honestly handsome as hell. Seriously, I've lost count of the amount of handsome men I've come across in this school.
I was a part of the few ugly people in this school. Everyone else was ridiculously hot.
I looked around for the leader, unable to believe he left me alone with this stranger. But that wasn't so shocking, even if it wasn't like he cared about my safety or anything.
I looked up at this guy again, wondering if he was dangerous and trying to figure out why the leader brought me to him.
There has to be a particular reason, which I just had a feeling wouldn't be a good one.
"So, Varney, do you wanna leave here for somewhere private so we can talk more?" He asked next.
My eyes widened and I quickly wondered if this guy thought I was stupid, cause why would I accompany him to somewhere private? I just wanna leave this creepy place as fast as I can.
"Um..,"
"Hey, you don't have to be nervous, okay? I'm not gonna hurt you." He breathed out just as his hand came out to push a strand of my hair out of my face.
I swallowed, wanting to push his hand away but not wanting to be rude.
"I honestly just wanna leave. I wasn't told why I was brought here, so forgive me for not trusting you." I mumbled uncomfortably.
Kade continued to stare at me, then he hummed.
"Oh, I understand you perfectly. And I'm not mad."
My eyes narrowed in suspicion. "You're not?" I blurted in surprise and he nodded.
"It's logical to be wary, especially as a human. If you wanna leave, that's fine. I can just take you back."
My eyes widened this time as I blinked up at him in shock.
"Really? You will?!" I cried out, still surprised as hell and he nodded, pushing off the stool he was leaning against.
"Of course, anything for a pretty little thing like you."
That word made my face color in mortification, and I wonder why he couldn't call me handsome? Or Fierce?
It's cause of this stupidly dainty body.
I do hate my life right now.
As he began to lead me out of the cramped room, I looked in the direction where I saw Knox.
But he wasn't there anymore.
He was gone.
