In the dining hall, most of the boys slouched in their chairs with food in front of them.
This is just the second day of tryouts, and it looks like half, if not more than half, of them are dead. "I know you're tired from today, but please listen carefully." Naomi said, while looking at the boys.
Their eyes slowly looked at her; some were half-closed, some were irritated, and some were just exhausted.
"It's been two days since we started everything. I only have two things to touch up on."
"Everything you did today, you will be doing it for the remaining four days." She continued.
Some grumble, "Seriously?"
And some grumble, "You've got to be kidding."
Naomi claps her hands, and the room goes quiet. "Clam down, boys."
"Starting tomorrow, we will start our Initial Drift. There are hundreds of you remaining,"
She turns to the whiteboard behind her and starts writing.
"So if I place five players on a team, then I will get twenty teams. You will have the freedom to choose your own teammates, but I will decide which group your team belongs to, so there are four teams in each group, which is five groups. "
"Top two teams from each group move forward."
She turned around slowly, "And for the rest, they will go home."
"So for each team, there will be one goalkeeper and the other four positions are up to you, so if you want one defender, two midfielders, and one striker, that's fine."
"If you want one defender and three midfielders and one stickers its up to you, I don't care."
"You will be using the full size of the field, which means more than one match a day, maybe even three."
"Take this seriously because we will be watching your skills and how you play to pick what position is best for you, even if you think it isn't."
Naomi starts to walk towards the exit.
"I will also be bringing in some help from two coaches you guys have until tonight to choose your members, and the first matches start at 12 pm tomorrow."
Noami walks out of the dining hall everyone starts to go around and pick team members.
Kario and Eli look at each other and smile, "teammates," said Kario
"Yea teammates said, Eli
before they could finish talk a shadow covers them from behind
"Good, so we are teammates," said Noah as he placed his hands around their shoulders
"No, we are not," said Kairo
"Come on, we need each other," said Noah.
"why though?" Eli asked with a frown on his face
Noah starts to smile, "Because dark horse."
He tilted his head slightly towards Kairo.
"I'm interested in shorty here that play he pulled off in the sky prison thing was something else even if he's trash in everything else."
Kairo looks at Noah
"I'm not a dark horse," said Eli
"Well, you kind of look like a horse."
"What the hell did you just say?" Eli jumps up and pushes off with his hand
"Plus, I brought two other players with me, which makes five of us."
He points over to them.
Two players stood up from the corner. They looked calm and quiet.
Eli whispered, "Those guys look serious."
Noah starts to smile, "Now what do you say we have a deal, you two loners?"
A few hours have passed, and it's now 9 pm.
The field is now quiet; most of the players have gone to bed already, but not Kairo.
He walks onto the field. "I really should try and get in some extra training whenever I can if I want to become stronger," he muttered to himself.
As he's walking across the field, he stops someone juggling a ball under the dim lights. He walks closer to see that it was Eli.
"Oh Eli," he said loudly
Eli turned slightly. "Kairo, what's up?"
so now you're finally awake said Kairo
"I guess you have a say so.. sorry about earlier, I'm not really an early morning person-" said Eli.
"It's fine," Kairo interrupted
Kairo stepped forward, "Sorry to bother you, but I actually came here to do some training, but since you're here, you don't mind training with me one-on-one?"
sure said Eli with a smile.
They moved to the centre of the field. Eli tapped the ball down, "ready."
kairo nodded
"go"
Eli burst forward kairo rushed in to close him down, but he rain bow flick on him.
The ball sailed over Kairo's head. Kairo froze for a second.
Eli caught it behind him
. Kairo turned slowly, "okay"
Eli laughed lightly, "Got you for a second there."
They started again, but Eli kicked the ball between his feet.
"Can I ask you something?" asked Kairo
"ask away"
"What does spatial awareness mean?"
Eli paused. "oh i thought you already knew that."
Kairo shook his head, "Not really i just hear people saying it alot and I forgot to look it up, that's why I'm asking you."
"well spatial awareness is basically the art of seeing everything around you."
"not just what's in front of you. everything in football terms, the players, the ball, space movement, and timing."
"its on a different level of seeing, like you're seeing the field from a god-like view."
"That sounds impossible," said Kairo.
"You have got a good awareness already, plus you're smart, really smart with a good IQ."
yea but that's just academics. Plus, the reason why I'm good at academics is that I have a good memory.
"exactly if you can see the field from a bird's eye view, plus your memory, you can be unstoppable in every position on the field only thing you need is to improve your skills, and I will help you," said Eli
Kairo looks down at his hands and closes them, and looks at Eli, "If this is true, then I can stand a chance." A purple aura starts to cover his body.
"Come on, let's finish this one v one," said Eli
