Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The Hunt for Truth

The whispers of betrayal had unsettled the circle. Suspicion hung over Lumeria like a fog, thick and suffocating. Cancer and Scorpio knew that if they did not uncover the truth, the circle would shatter completely—and the shadows would return stronger than before.

Leo stood in the square, his golden aura flaring. "We cannot move forward until we know who betrayed us. Someone called the phantoms. Someone opened the door."

Aries scoffed, his fire sparking. "You accuse, but you have no proof. Pride is not evidence."

Leo's gaze swept the circle. "Then let us find proof. Let us hunt the truth."

Cancer stepped forward, her voice trembling but firm. "Then Scorpio and I will lead the search. If there is betrayal, we will uncover it."

Scorpio's eyes burned. "And when we find it, the circle will see that love does not falter in shadows."

Virgo approached Cancer, her tone sharp. "If you lead, you must be precise. Search every word, every action. Betrayal hides in details."

Capricorn added, his voice steady. "Duty demands we uncover the truth. But beware—sometimes truth wounds more than lies."

Cancer nodded, her heart heavy. "Then let us face the wounds together."

Sagittarius strummed his guitar, his melody restless. "Truth is not found in cages. It is found in freedom. If you bind us in suspicion, you will lose us."

Aquarius added, his gaze distant. "Perhaps betrayal is not one soul, but all of us. Pride, fear, division—each opened the door."

Scorpio's tone was sharp. "Then we will uncover not just one betrayal, but all the cracks that let the shadows in."

Libra stepped forward, her voice calm. "Balance must guide the search. If you hunt with anger, you will find only more anger. Hunt with love, and you may find truth."

Cancer's tears shimmered. "Then let us hunt with love. Even if the truth breaks us, love will mend us."

That night, Cancer and Scorpio searched the pier where the phantoms had first appeared. The waves whispered, carrying secrets.

Scorpio's eyes narrowed. "Look. The lanterns were moved. Someone shifted them to guide the phantoms here."

Cancer's heart tightened. "Then it was not chance. Someone led them."

Scorpio's voice was low, fierce. "The betrayal is real. And we will find who lit the path."

The stars shimmered faintly, as if watching. The circle was fractured, suspicion spreading like cracks in stone. But at its heart, Cancer and Scorpio stood together—fragile, yet unyielding, determined to uncover the truth and prove that love could withstand even betrayal.
