Third Person POV
The system did not stabilize. That was the first thing they understood. Even as the words STATE ACTIVE remained on the display, nothing about the system felt fixed. Nothing felt complete. It did not settle into a final form. It did not lock into a structure they could define. It moved. Not visibly. Not physically. But in presence. Like something that had taken its first breath and had not yet decided what breathing meant.
Lily felt it most clearly. "It is not done," she said quietly. "No," Meadow replied. "It has started." That difference mattered. Dr Ward stared at the structure, her eyes scanning every visible layer even though she already knew what she would find. "No metrics. No limits. No boundaries that remain constant," she said. Run 5's voice came softly from within Alaric now, no longer beside him. "Because it is not operating within a fixed framework."
