"Enormous energy?"
Dr. Pym couldn't help circling the massive dome-shaped device. As expected, he spotted more than a dozen glowing reactors on its exterior.
In addition, the device could only lock onto a one-way teleport coordinate. It couldn't support round-trip teleportation or free movement.
"Hmm… it's a bit like the town teleport scrolls in some games…"
Reed openly listed all the portal's shortcomings, yet even so, unmistakable pride was written all over his face.
"A return scroll? Unbelievable, truly unbelievable…"
Although he was an old man from the past and didn't know what a return scroll was, he could still understand what Reed meant.
"Oh right—where did that Superman gentleman who arrived earlier go?"
After the initial shock wore off, Dr. Pym finally remembered Peter.
"He must have gone to retrieve the 'star' lighting up New York."
"Look, he's back…"
As Reed spoke, a familiar figure appeared in the corridor, holding a dazzling, star-like light in one hand.
…
Late at night, inside Tony Stark's villa.
"JARVIS, any updates on the biological lab I asked you to investigate?"
Tony tossed the photo he had reviewed countless times onto the table.
"Sir, the company does have records of establishing that laboratory. Ms. Potts was forced to take leave at the time."
"However, all equipment in the lab was isolated from the internet, and the data was stored on independent servers. Unfortunately, I'm unable to—"
"So that's all you could find?"
Tony's expression darkened.
After returning, he discovered that his personal secretary had been forced to take leave. Though furious, he immediately canceled Pepper's leave and didn't pursue the matter further.
Unexpectedly, the reason she was suspended was precisely because of that lab.
"Did you find anything else on Obadiah's personal computer or phone?"
Tony finally began to suspect his father's business partner—his own uncle—despite how much he resisted the thought.
"I'm sorry, sir. Mr. Stane's security systems are extremely advanced. Forced intrusion may trigger detection."
"So he really covered everything perfectly…"
Seeing no progress, Tony's face turned grim.
"In that case, I'll handle it myself."
The next second, Tony stood up from the couch.
He picked up the nanotech storage device, placed it against his chest, and tapped it twice.
In less than three seconds, the nanotech armor fully enveloped his body. The metal mask dropped into place, its glowing white eyes radiating an eerie sense of intimidation.
Flames erupted beneath his feet, lifting him free from gravity.
The powerful thrust blasted him straight through the basement door and into the open sky.
Boom!
With a deafening sonic boom, he broke the sound barrier and shot toward the secret biological laboratory.
"Hey, did you notice? That bright 'star' in the sky seems to be gone tonight."
At the same time, many people noticed that the "star" illuminating New York's night sky had suddenly vanished.
Under the dark sky, a slender figure in a black-and-white suit reappeared after several days.
Webbing shot out as the figure swung between skyscrapers, racing toward a laboratory on the outskirts of New York.
…

Chapter 58: The Ferocious Beast (Continue Reading)
Night fell over the outskirts of New York. Although sealed off, a biological laboratory remained brightly lit.
Several scientists in white lab coats busied themselves with experiments.
A balding researcher slowly stepped away from a microscope, opened a sealed safe behind him, and removed a vial of pale-yellow liquid. He then entered a heavily isolated chamber.
On the metal operating table lay a bound and gagged homeless man.
His frail body was covered in horrifying wounds, and he looked extremely weak, as if he hadn't eaten in days.
"No… please don't do this! Let me go back!"
Fear flooded his eyes as the bald man approached.
Despite struggling desperately, he was severely injured. His limbs and head were completely restrained by metal shackles—escape was impossible.
"Don't be afraid. It'll be over soon."
With a crazed smile, the bald man injected the liquid into the man's vein.
Almost instantly, the veins beneath his skin turned pale yellow, spreading across his arm.
A horrifying roar burst from his throat—neither human nor beast.
His skeletal arms rapidly swelled with muscle.
Crack!
With a sharp snap, he tore free from the metal restraints.
Sharp bone spikes burst through his skin, growing at a visible rate, gleaming like blades.
The bald researcher fled the chamber, slammed shut the ten-centimeter-thick metal door, and rushed to a reinforced observation window, watching with madness and desire in his eyes.
The homeless man's body transformed completely—now a massive, muscular monster, smashing the lab equipment with ease.
He ripped the operating table apart, leapt over ten meters into the air, slammed his head into the metal ceiling, then stood back up as if nothing had happened.
The bone spikes on his arms sliced through metal walls like knives.
"Incredible… Every time I witness power beyond humanity, I'm irresistibly drawn to it."
Suddenly, a voice interrupted him.
"How's the experiment going? We don't have much time—Tony Stark is already onto us."
"Mr. Stane, you're here."
"Progress has been significant, but it's not a true success. The subject develops extreme violent tendencies after injection."
"Even when fused with special cerebrospinal fluid extracted from human neural tissue, we can only suppress the violence—not eliminate it."
As if proving his words, violent crashes echoed from the sealed chamber.
He pressed a button. Thick toxic gas flooded the room, instantly subduing the monster.
Then, casually, he opened another safe.
"Please take a look. One serum is derived directly from the DNA extracted from that arm. The pale-yellow one is the improved version."
Obadiah stared intently at the vials.
"What's the difference?"
"The original grants immense power but turns people into bloodthirsty, mindless monsters."
"The improved version still induces aggression, but it preserves human consciousness and avoids unacceptable side effects."
