Chapter 268 - A Warning 2

Chen Zilu was taken aback.

She hadn't expected Jiang Ye to harbor such ambition.

After a moment, she agreed. "Alright." A dazzling smile bloomed on her beautiful face. "But you'll have to catch up to me quickly. Otherwise, by the time the Great Stellar War arrives, we'll likely be assigned to different battlefields."

"A year is plenty of time," Jiang Ye said with a confident grin.

"Hmph," Chen Zilu scoffed, seeing his self-assuredness. "It's not like you're the only one who'll be improving. Don't forget, I'll be breaking through realms too."

"Then let's compete," Jiang Ye suggested with a smile. "See who advances faster."

"No way," Chen Zilu huffed.

She'd be a fool to compete with this guy's cultivation speed. Breaking through three realms in a year? That's practically monstrous.

"Haha, just kidding," Jiang Ye chuckled. "I'll head back to cultivate now. I'll work hard to catch up to you."

"Senior Sister, get some rest," he added, noticing her pale complexion and clearly weakened state.

"Alright, go back now," Chen Zilu nodded.

Jiang Ye said nothing more, turning and walking away.

Chen Zilu watched his retreating figure.

Only after Jiang Ye had completely disappeared did she turn back, a thoughtful expression flickering in her peach-blossom eyes.

Could this guy actually stand a chance against a Transcendent Aptitude?

She had never considered this possibility before.

But now? Recalling the combat prowess Jiang Ye had displayed, Chen Zilu suddenly felt it might not be impossible after all.

Whoosh!

A figure shot out of Star Garden No. 10.

"Bai Gui," Jiang Ye thought, "if my innate avatar is damaged, will it worsen the symptoms of God-Devouring Syndrome?"

"Yes," Bai Gui nodded.

"Is there any way to repair the innate avatar?" Jiang Ye couldn't help but ask.

Even the technique Broken Mirror, Reunited couldn't restore the Martial Dao Foundation, let alone an innate talent.

"Damage to the innate avatar is actually damage to the divine soul," Bai Gui explained. "There are many methods to repair the divine soul."

"But they're rarely accessible to the Blue Star Civilization," Bai Gui shook her head.

"Is there truly no way?" Jiang Ye frowned slightly.

Bai Gui paused for a moment.

A moment later, Bai Gui spoke.

"Within the master's inheritance, there are several cultivation techniques capable of nurturing the divine soul," she said. "However, access to these techniques will only unlock after your seventh breakthrough."

"Seventh breakthrough?" Jiang Ye frowned.

He had only reached his third breakthrough. How long would it take to reach the seventh?

An eternity.

"If the innate avatar is damaged, will it heal naturally?" Jiang Ye asked, unwilling to give up.

"No," Bai Gui replied, shaking her head. "The only options are to cultivate divine soul techniques or nurture it with treasures. There are no other methods."

Did that mean Chen Zilu would have to endure that near-collapse-inducing pain every time she cultivated from now on?

"Seventh breakthrough," Jiang Ye resolved inwardly.

If this was the only way, he had to reach that breakthrough as quickly as possible to alleviate his senior sister's suffering.

"Divine-Tier Opportunity Zone."

"The Star Realm Sea in two months," Jiang Ye thought to himself. "It must hold extraordinary opportunities. I absolutely must seize them."

Ancient Star No. 7 was merely an upper B-tier opportunity zone, yet it had already brought Jiang Ye such significant advancement.

A Divine-Tier Opportunity Zone? It must contain even more astonishing treasures.

Lost in thought, Jiang Ye had already flown back near Star Garden No. 11.

Suddenly,

"Hm?" Jiang Ye's expression sharpened.

Buzz!

The sky before him abruptly darkened.

The heavens lost all color as if an invisible hand had drained away all light, and inky darkness surged in from all directions like a rising tide.

Within a breath, the entire world seemed to have plunged into an abyss of impenetrable gloom.

Jiang Ye frowned slightly, recognizing that he had entered some kind of invisible Domain.

The power of this Domain clearly didn't originate from a dao bone.

Instead, it came from—

Transcendence!

"Jiang Ye," a voice boomed, not from the heavens, but directly within his mind.

The sensation was like hearing the voice of a Divine being—vast and overwhelming, each word piercing deep into his soul, causing him to tremble.

Fortunately, Jiang Ye's Martial Dao Will was unshakably firm, rendering him impervious to such intimidation.

"Who are you?" Jiang Ye demanded.

"You need not know," the colossal voice replied. "Stay away from Chen Zilu. This is a warning."

"A warning?" Jiang Ye's face remained calm.

Between heaven and earth, the wind and clouds abruptly stilled, as if even the air itself had frozen.

Only a colossal, silent pressure permeated the atmosphere, suffocating and causing the earth to tremble slightly. The surrounding buildings warped and blurred under this invisible force.

In this deathly silence...

Boom! A primordial roar erupted, not thunder, yet more terrifying than any lightning strike.

It was the sound of some colossal entity tearing through the fabric of space.

Immediately afterward, a hazy silhouette materialized in the dark sky. Initially, it was just a faint, horizontal shadow stretching across the heavens, but in the blink of an eye, it solidified with visible speed.

A dark purple divine statue.

Its body was impossibly vast, its features indistinct yet radiating an innate majesty.

Whoosh! As if commanding the entire world, the statue lowered its head to gaze upon Jiang Ye. In that instant, it felt as if the entire world were pressing down upon him.

This oppressive force...

Targeted not just the physical body, but the divine soul itself!

It not only made his knees buckle but also inspired genuine awe, a primal urge to kneel and worship.

It was as if a Divine being was unleashing its wrath!

Had it been any other third breakthrough powerhouse, or even a fourth breakthrough powerhouse, they would have likely collapsed to their knees, prostrating themselves in endless kowtows.

But Jiang Ye's Martial Dao Will was incomparably strong, leaving him largely unaffected.

His face remained icy as he stared coldly at the Divine statue.

Just then—

Whoosh!

A vertical line suddenly appeared in the pitch-black sky, as if the heavens had been cleaved open by a single blade strike. The line rapidly expanded, and countless icy, glacial energies surged forth.

In an instant, the entire world seemed to be consumed by frost. Even the air froze solid, yet Jiang Ye felt no discomfort whatsoever.

Hah!

A slender figure materialized, her back turned to Jiang Ye.

Her bare feet stood on the frozen ground, her white dress billowing wildly in the wind. Her long, jet-black hair visibly transformed into snow-white strands before his very eyes.

"Zhou Xingkong," she said, her voice dripping with icy malice, as if forged from ten thousand years of glacial ice. "Do you wish to die?"

Her words instantly dimmed the Proud Sun in the sky, as if it had been completely frozen solid.
