Chapter 237 - Chapter 225: Unmatched

Seeing Steppenwolf lift up his father, Victor's expression changed and he shouted, "Let him go!"

His left hand immediately transformed into a white noise cannon and fired at Steppenwolf's arm.

BOOM!

Even though he had been modified by the Mother Box and his body had become a hundred times stronger, Steppenwolf had not been on guard. When Victor's blast hit his arm, his hand jerked open. Silas Stone and the silver metal spider on him were thrown away.

They crashed into a corner.

Silas could not get up for the moment.

"Cyborg" Victor had already flown over. The white noise cannon formed from his arm fired repeatedly, forcing back the surrounding Parademons.

The machinery on his back shifted, and two mechanical arms grabbed the silver metal spider off Silas and threw it aside.

"Are you okay?"

Victor asked with concern.

Ever since he had become this thing that was neither fully human nor something else, his relationship with his father had become very bad. Even before the car accident, he had complained that Silas only cared about work and never cared about him.

After the accident, when Silas used the Mother Box to rebuild his body, Victor hated the man even more for turning him into a monster.

Until now.

Until Silas's life was in danger.

Only then did Victor realize that he still loved his father.

Seeing how much concern his son showed, Silas was moved. He grabbed Victor's hand.

"I'm fine."

Suddenly, his expression changed.

"Watch out!"

Steppenwolf had raised his Electro Axe. Lightning crackled around the blade as he swung it down.

But at that moment, a small hand grabbed the back of the axe, preventing Steppenwolf from moving it.

Steppenwolf turned around and saw a woman floating above him.

Beneath her short platinum-blonde hair was a striking face with a bold smile. Her red-and-blue battle suit highlighted her figure.

"Who are you?"

Steppenwolf could feel the terrifying power inside her. That small body contained strength that seemed capable of destroying a planet.

"Me?"

"In my world, they all call me 'Homelander.'"

Vera suddenly spun around and threw Steppenwolf away along with his axe.

The over four-meter-tall Steppenwolf smashed through a wall and landed on a damaged iron bridge outside.

Vera flew out after him.

Steppenwolf greeted her with his lightning-covered axe.

Batman snatched a rifle from a Parademon and fired repeatedly, taking down several of them.

He shouted, "Quick, get everyone out of here first!"

Victor nodded, picked up his father, and flew out, heading down from the tower.

The other scientists came out of the room under Barry Allen's guidance.

Batman covered them. Using the Parademon rifle and his precise marksmanship, he steadily opened a path through the Parademons for Victor and the others to retreat.

BOOM!

A shockwave swept over.

Bruce's cape flew upward, and Batman was thrown back by the impact. His back hit a wall before he slid down.

He quickly fired his grappling gun. The alloy hook caught the wall, and Bruce swung onto a staircase.

Only then did he see that a hole had been blasted through the tower wall above.

Vera and Steppenwolf were no longer on the metal bridge.

They were already outside.

A moment earlier, Steppenwolf had swung his axe. Vera blocked it with one hand, then pulled Mjolnir from her inventory.

With a single strike, she knocked Steppenwolf out of the tower.

She chased after him and caught up while he was still in the air.

The two became locked in combat.

Mjolnir and the Electro Axe collided again and again. Each clash unleashed blue and yellow lightning that tangled together, lighting up Vera and Steppenwolf like gods and demons.

Bang! Bang!

The two landed on the harbor docks.

Vera frowned, "As expected, he's been corrected."

"This guy's strength is completely different from what it was in the movie."

In the movie Justice League, Steppenwolf rampaged through everything, but in the end Superman beat him so badly that he could not fight back.

In the movie, Steppenwolf had been heavily weakened.

Even in the comics, although Steppenwolf was ultimately no match for Superman, he was not beaten as badly as in the film, where Superman completely crushed him before Wonder Woman cut off his head.

Now, after that brief exchange, Vera could be certain that the Steppenwolf before her was far stronger than the one in the movie.

He was bigger, more imposing, and more powerful.

"I admit that among all the women I've met, you are the strongest."

Steppenwolf did not roar or shout. He spoke in a low voice, "But not beyond defeat."

As he spoke, his eyes lit up.

The energy given to him by the Mother Box gathered in his eyes, forming two masses of blue lightning.

The spikes on Steppenwolf's armor all stood upright.

For a moment, he looked like a giant hedgehog.

Steppenwolf strode toward Vera.

As he walked, thunder surged from the Electro Axe in his hand.

The yellow lightning pouring from it bounced and reflected through the surrounding space. Whenever it swept across the ground, it left behind a blackened mark.

Unlike Mjolnir, Steppenwolf's Electro Axe could release massive amounts of lightning on its own. After Steppenwolf had been modified by the Mother Box, he could also separate part of the Mother Box's energy and channel it into the axe.

As a result, the yellow lightning it once produced had become deeper in color, turning red-gold.

As the red-gold lightning was released, it condensed into fist-sized spheres of electricity.

Once these spherical lightning bolts left the axe, they quickly vanished.

But anything they passed through was silently melted through.

"I really should thank that bastard."

"He raised the difficulty for me for no reason," Vera muttered.

But even against a Steppenwolf whose power had clearly risen greatly, she did not seem afraid.

She raised Mjolnir high and pointed it toward the sky.

A violent wind immediately swept across the harbor.

Outside the docks, waves rolled across the sea.

A bolt of lightning as thick as a water tank suddenly struck down, lighting up the entire ocean.

The tip of the lightning was sharp like a spear.

It landed directly on Steppenwolf's forehead just as he raised his head.

BOOM!

Standing by the breach in the tower, Bruce saw a scene he would never forget.

Dark clouds covered the sky.

The wind howled.

A massive bolt of lightning descended like a spear thrown by a god and struck Steppenwolf's body.

The silver-horned monster instantly vanished within the blinding light.

Bruce could see nothing.

The only sounds reaching his ears were wind, thunder, and crashing waves blending into one deafening roar.

When the light over the docks finally dimmed somewhat, he saw that the docks were gone.

Vera floated in the air.

Lightning continued to strike around her.

Amid the alternating light and darkness, the woman looked like a god of thunder, unmatched.
