Chizo Yamanaka continued to keep the Kumo sensor's mind under his control for a short while longer.
He carefully searched through the man's memories so that nothing useful would be missed.
After the nearby Kumo shinobi fell and were replaced by the ones from Konoha, he finally left the sensor's mind.
The link broke cleanly and Chizo was back with in his own body. As soon as the sensor saw the people standing around him, he was about to shout to warn others even though everyone nearby from Kumo was already dead.
Before any sound could leave his mouth he was already restrained by a Shadow Possession Jutsu. The black shape held his body completely still so that he could not move or call for help.
Chozo spoke in a calm and clear voice as he reported to the group. "I have got all the information from his mind that is helpful. Supply locations, guard rotations and everything."
The details included the places where food, weapons and medical goods were stored as well as the times when different groups of guards changed shifts.
Shunsui listened and then sighed quietly inside his own thoughts. 'And I don't even get to use one of my interrogation games. What a pity. I wanted to try the Operation game for a while to extract information.'
He had hoped for a chance to test that particular game on a real enemy but the Yamanaka technique had finished the work.
Chozo's face became serious as he continued speaking. "But we have got a problem."
Shinku beckoned him with a small movement of his hand and told him to say everything.
Chozo took a short breath and then delivered the news. "The commander of this Kumo base is Toroi of the Magnet Release."
At those words everyone had a frown on their face. A couple of the younger shinobi even shivered from fear. And they all had the right to do so because Toroi was an S rank shinobi someone not to be trifled with.
His Magnet Release allowed him to control metal objects from a distance and turn their own weapons against them. Facing such a man in a battle would be extremely dangerous for a small platoon like them.
Shinku kept his voice calm and answered the concern at once. "That is indeed a problem but our job is not to kill the commander of this supply base. As long as we keep ourselves hidden, fulfill our mission and not engage him in a fight, we would still make it out of here."
He explained that their goal was only to weaken the Cloud hold on the city so that the enemy would choose to leave. Direct confrontation with an S rank fighter was never part of the orders.
Shunsui wanted to say he was being too optimistic but he kept his mouth shut. He understood that hope was better than open fear at this moment.
Chizo added more information that changed the next steps of the plan. "Another thing is that a few Kumo shinobi are going to enter the city from the west wall today. They are bringing back a few injured from the battlefield to get treated."
Shinto and Shinku looked at each other and shared a quick understanding. Shinku spoke again, "We can use those remaining Kumo shinobi to disguise the remaining people. We will take them out from outside the city before they could reach here."
The idea would give the last members of the platoon the same perfect covers that the first group already used to easily be part of the city.
At the same time Shinku reminded everyone of an important limit. "We have to do things in a way we don't harm the civilians. This is a city of the Land of Fire and if we take the city with a lot of citizen deaths, Lord Daimyo would have our heads."
The lives of ordinary people living inside Fujimihara had to stay safe no matter how hard the mission became.
Shinku then shared one more piece of outside news. "I have been informed that Lord Orochimaru has also left Konoha with three platoons. And Kumo would also know this movement from their spies."
Shunsui wanted to ask how he was informed about it while they were travelling but then thought it must be one of Orochimaru's snakes that must have delivered the information.
The famous Sannin often used his summons to carry messages across long distances. The knowledge that more Konoha forces were moving gave the Shadow Platoon a small feeling of support even though those other groups were far away.
Shinto Nara took over the explanation of the overall goal. "Our goal would be to weaken Kumo's hold on this city enough for them to retreat from this city."
"We will hit the city hospital where they are treating the injured. Since they are bringing the injured, the ones who would replace them would have an easy way of entering the hospital."
The arrival of wounded Cloud shinobi would create a natural opening for the disguised Konoha team.
Chizo added, "But Kumo have been clever about it. They have not shifted the city's doctors and patients outside so we can't just blow the hospital. So we will have to use other means and I think Shunsui with his kekkei genkai would definitely be in that team."
Shunsui nodded as his sensei looked at him in worry. Choza cared about his student's safety and the look on his face showed that concern clearly.
Choza spoke up at once. "Then I will join him."
Shinto answered with firm but respectful words. "No Choza san, you would be required for our other targets which would be their war supplies. War supplies would be more guarded and we would need you for that especially if Toroi comes after us."
Choza reluctantly nodded and accepted the different assignment even though he still felt uneasy.
Shinto continued the planning with clear care for Shunsui's safety. "But we understand the importance of Shunsui's safety. Me, Chizo and Hiori would accompany him along with a couple more people."
The three jonin plus extra support would form a strong escort around the young War Power.
At those words Choza had a sigh of relief. He trusted the three experienced fighters to keep his student alive.
Shinto then described the final stage of the plan. "After completing our mission we would be storming outside the city through this side of wall immediately. There would be no one to stop us from here since we had killed everyone present."
The sudden exit would take place before the Cloud forces could organise a full response.
"Kumo would not stay long with their injured shinobi and iryo nin dead as well as their war supplies either destroyed or taken. With Orochimaru san on his way, they would definitely choose to retreat from the city than face a Sanin."
Shinto finished the briefing, "This has risks and some of us might die but it is the best plan to complete our mission."
He looked at every face in the circle so that no one would misunderstand the possible cost. The members of the Shadow Platoon stood in silence for a few moments and accepted the weight of the coming tasks.
Shunsui thought quietly to himself, 'I guess all Naras just have a mind to make up crazy plans.'
