"This is the best time," he muttered to himself.
And he moved.
Fast enough to catch her before she stepped back into position, but not so fast it felt strange.
"Selene."
She turned immediately, eyes narrowing slightly when she saw him.
There it was.
That look.
A bit of suspicion. A bit of curiosity.
"Arthur?"
He raised a hand lightly.
"Relax, I'm not here to distract you."
She raised a brow.
"Looks like you are."
He huffed a small laugh.
"Fair."
Then he shrugged.
"I'm handling Mel's training for now. Thought I'd check on the rest of you."
Selene looked at him for a second longer, like she was trying to decide if that made sense.
Then she nodded.
"…Alright."
Simple.
Straight.
Arthur liked that about her.
He didn't drag it out.
"How's it going?"
That was all it took.
Her expression shifted.
Not softer, but sharper.
Focused.
"I'm getting better."
Arthur could see it before she even explained.
