Chapter 3 - improve the game settings

Based on Jiang Hao's concept and some of the cultivated Player body characteristics provided by Lilith, he made some changes regarding leveling up.

Leveling up for Players is essentially about improving their physical attributes, mainly through two methods.

One method is through exercise, such as chopping trees or moving stones to train strength, and running to train speed.

If they navigate quickly through rugged mountain forests, they can also train agility.

The other method is to kill creatures to obtain soul power, or Soulforce for short.

According to Jiang Hao's actual data reference from the past six months, killing a rabbit can grant one Soulforce.

The larger the creature and the stronger its vitality, the more Soulforce it provides upon being killed.

Although Jiang Hao only needed one hundred Soulforce to advance from Level 1 to Level 2 back then,

in the early stages, he didn't know how to hunt at all; either he couldn't find prey or he couldn't catch them, and it took him a full two months to accumulate one hundred Soulforce.

Harboring the wicked thought that since he had suffered, others should also experience it,

Jiang Hao adjusted the rules for Players to acquire Soulforce.

However, Lilith, who was sitting on his shoulder and watching him operate, grew more and more puzzled.

"Master, if you set it up like this, aren't you afraid the Players will hang you on a lamppost once they find out?"

Lilith, sitting on Jiang Hao's shoulder, saw his customization of the Player leveling rules and kindly spoke up to remind him.

Jiang Hao didn't notice the internet slang that popped out of Lilith's mouth and continued to operate confidently.

At the same time, he smiled and said, "You can't say that. Although I will collect ninety percent of the Soulforce gained by Players, this portion isn't for my enjoyment."

"Oh? Does Master have other arrangements?" Lilith continued to ask with an innocent expression.

"Of course! First, Players must be divided into combat Players and life Players.

Life Players generally won't actively participate in combat, but I still need to give them experience rewards for completing quests, right?

This portion of Soulforce will naturally come from that ninety percent.

At the same time, there's also Soulforce for cultivating nature spirits, and some to be reserved for emergencies."

After Jiang Hao explained this, Lilith nodded, half-understanding, but she felt that her Master's smile was quite meaningful.

"And these aren't even the most important goals," Jiang Hao said, still acting profoundly, teasing Lilith.

Lilith was very cooperative, tilting her small head and curiously playing along, "Then do you have other, more profound arrangements?"

Jiang Hao nodded with great satisfaction at her question.

"Of course, the main purpose of collecting ninety percent of the experience points is actually for the Players' own good.

You see, leveling up too quickly is not a good thing, especially many combat skills require continuous practice to improve. Do you understand?"

"Oh! So that's how it is, Master, you are too cool! Lilith just couldn't think of so many good ideas!" Lilith also clapped, offering praise to her vain Master.

Jiang Hao was enjoying it, but then it suddenly dawned on him.

"No! What's this 'too cool,' and before that, 'hang on a lamppost'? Where did you learn that?"

Lilith's sudden outburst of internet catchphrases made him very suspicious that Lilith was also a frequent internet user.

Lilith didn't hide it and pointed directly at another light screen on Jiang Hao's side, saying, "I just saw it online! Oh, and there's another question I'm very curious about."

Seeing that she had indeed learned the words online, Jiang Hao could only concede, picking up the water glass beside him to drink.

"What question?"

"That... why does a chicken have to play basketball?"

Pfft~!!

Upon hearing Lilith's question, the water Jiang Hao had just drunk immediately sprayed out.

Quickly wiping his mouth, he looked at Lilith, who still appeared naturally adorable.

Jiang Hao said irritably, "You absolutely must not say these words in front of Players in the future! Otherwise, it's very easy to expose yourself, and I also don't want to receive a lawyer's letter. Hmm~ to be safe, you are not allowed to have verbal communication with Players from now on."

"Oh..." Although Lilith didn't understand why her Master reacted so strongly, she would certainly obey her Master's command.

"Alright, back to work. Next is the Soulforce allocation for Player team kills." Jiang Hao adjusted his mindset and continued to state the setting rules.

"Lilith, this requires you to monitor the Players' combat situations.

My idea is that the more effort a person puts in during combat, the more Soulforce they receive."

"No problem, Master, Lilith can sense the status of all Players," Lilith immediately guaranteed to complete the task.

Jiang Hao also believed she could fulfill his vision, after all, she represented the Earth Will.

Tasks that even computers could complete certainly wouldn't be difficult for her.

Jiang Hao didn't stop, continuing to add, "Of course, the distribution method should also be determined by the number of team members.

For example, a five-person or small team is suitable for this distribution.

But for battles with over ten people, team-level combat, a portion can be left to the captain for free distribution.

After all, in team combat, there are definitely distinctions like main attackers, assists, and support.

This method can also be applied to future legion combat modes."

"Okay, Master, Lilith has noted it."

"Okay, then let's implement it like this for a while and see, then adjust later. Let's continue discussing the issue of displaying the attribute interface."

"Okay, Master."

With Lilith as his powerful assistant, Jiang Hao's ideas, once finalized, were basically implemented immediately.

Meanwhile, on Earth.

Inside a high-end internet cafe, there was a private luxury room.

Jiang Chengbow ended a game with curses.

Two large "DEFEAT" signs on the screen proved that it had not been a pleasant match.

As a successful middle-aged man, Jiang Chengbow had no special hobbies.

He just liked to play games at the flagship internet cafe he owned when he had nothing to do.

"Damn it, you elementary school kids come to annoy people first thing on a weekend morning! Don't you have enough homework?!"

Jiang Chengbow angrily swore again, then picked up the cigarette pack next to him, took out a Huazi cigarette, and lit it for himself.

He took two puffs before his anger subsided.

He casually closed the League of Legends interface and opened another game platform, preparing to switch games.

But seeing the constantly flashing QQ icon in the bottom right corner, he instinctively clicked to check it.

He saw that the group chat "Future of Chinese E-sports" was still discussing the internal test event that Haozi had just revealed.

Jiang Chengbow didn't hesitate; if he hadn't started a game earlier, he would have already gone to check it out.

Now he had plenty of time, so he found the link Jiang Hao had sent and clicked directly into it.

"This... is too simple, isn't it?"

Unsurprisingly, seeing the crude webpage with only the artistic characters "Oran Continent" and a reservation button, Jiang Chengbow, like most people, suspected that Jiang Hao was trying to phish.

However, he immediately dismissed that thought.

After all, in an era where antivirus software was almost obsolete, it wasn't that easy to infect a computer with a virus.

And he was using the internet cafe's system, which had just been maintained by an engineer.

Coupled with his consistent impression of Jiang Hao, he didn't hesitate. Seeing that three people had already made reservations, he clicked the reservation button and began to fill out the information.

Although the information required was very detailed, such as address, name, ID number, and so on, all needed to be filled in.

Jiang Hao had already made notes next to each item.

For example, filling in the ID number was for binding one account per person.

The address was for sending virtual devices to them via express delivery after confirming their participation in the internal test.

This dispelled Jiang Chengbow's concerns.

However, after filling in the basic information, the other subsequent details became interesting.

For example, it required filling in one's real occupation and hobbies.

But since he was almost done filling it out, Jiang Chengbow patiently completed all the forms.

"Haozi, I hope you don't screw me over, or else it won't be worth all this effort I put into filling out the information."

After filling it out, he carefully checked it once, then clicked submit.

After receiving the prompt that the information had been successfully submitted and to please wait for notification,

he extinguished the almost burnt-out cigarette butt and started his daily parachute game.
