The sorcerers of Kamar-Taj were different from ordinary mages.
Every one of them was built for battle.
That much could be seen from their founding master, Agamotto.
Agamotto was a fiercely built powerhouse.
As his disciples, the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj were naturally very good at fighting as well.
A powerful physical body, combined with all kinds of subspace forces, made them fearless even in the face of annihilation.
With the enhancement of various auxiliary spells, Karl's physical body had reached an utterly terrifying level.
He pinned Chthon, who had been boosted by the violent power of four beings, to the ground and beat him viciously.
In terms of magic, they were not Karl's match at all.
In terms of the body, they were even worse.
If Chthon had recovered his full strength, that might have been different.
But while sealed, how could he possibly defeat Karl?
Boom!
A terrifying thunderous sound rang out.
Chthon was punched straight underground once again.
Bang, bang, bang!
Several laws fused in Karl's hands, directly forming several law spheres.
Karl casually threw them down.
Crash!
The ground for tens of thousands of meters around them was smashed to pieces.
The already ravaged earth was devastated once again.
"Chthon, keep going."
"I want to see how long you can hold out."
He pulled with both hands.
Two streaks of golden lightning appeared in his palms.
The powerful Bolts of Balthakk flashed like blazing arcs and blasted straight into the ground.
Chthon was struck so hard that he shuddered.
Deep in the pit underground, the expression on his face was extremely ugly.
Just as Karl had said.
He could not hold on much longer.
The Soul Link had already lasted for more than three hours.
Even with the strength of his soul, he was starting to fail.
He even felt that his sense of self was growing confused.
His use of various powers was also beginning to show signs of disorder.
It was hard to say how those three Great Demons were faring.
But he could guarantee that their condition was definitely no better than his.
Chthon knew.
It was time for him to leave.
If this continued, the price he had to pay would be far too heavy.
He could not afford it.
He was a multiversal-level existence.
Why should he risk his life here?
Once he made up his mind, he waved his hand.
Death energy surged like a tide, directly sealing the surrounding space.
Then his entire figure flashed like lightning.
His whole body vanished from that place.
"You want to leave? Did you ask for my opinion?"
"Let's keep playing for a while."
The corner of Karl's mouth curled up with arrogance.
"Time Reversal!"
Karl stretched out a hand.
Green light flickered around them.
Green runes emerged, and a massive spell array appeared.
Time around them began flowing backward.
The moves Karl had used returned into his body once more.
As for Chthon, who had flown out like an arrow, he shot back from the distance like an arrow all over again.
His face was full of confusion.
"Chthon, we meet again."
"Let's fight another three hundred rounds. We still haven't decided the winner."
Karl smiled brightly.
Chthon almost wanted to curse.
Was this lunatic insane? Who wanted to fight him for another three hundred rounds?
He wanted to run!
Chthon did not want to speak.
With a backhand motion, he fired a powerful energy ray at Karl.
Using that to create distance, Chthon once again shot away like an arrow.
"Spatial Reversal!"
Karl waved his hand.
The Law of Space flowed directly through his palm.
The surrounding spatial structure changed instantly.
Chthon was clearly flying forward.
But the distance between him and Karl did not increase at all.
Instead, it kept shrinking.
Before, he had not felt it too strongly.
But now, he finally discovered it.
Karl was truly a monster.
He had all kinds of methods that were impossible to guard against.
The mighty Chthon, God of the Underworld, actually felt stifled and wronged.
Right now, Chthon almost wanted to cry.
Why had he provoked this brat instead of living his perfectly good life?
Now he had brought trouble down on himself.
If greed had not gotten the better of him, he would have already escaped unscathed by now.
Chthon was filled with endless regret.
However, there was no way to undo it.
"This damned Soul Link!"
"Even undoing it is this troublesome."
Chthon cursed inwardly.
Why had he created such a stupid spell back then?
Why did he have to be together with them before it could be undone?
During his battle with Karl, he had already moved no one knew how far away!
Even going back would take some effort.
This was far too troublesome.
Chthon cursed in silence.
He had already sensed that the link was beginning to interfere with his perception.
This was also why he had been so unable to resist Karl's moves.
Otherwise, how could ordinary laws possibly trap him?
After withstanding another attack from Karl head-on, Chthon finally spoke again.
"Sorcerer Supreme, let me leave. I can swear an oath!"
"From now on, I will absolutely never attack you again."
"I can even stay far away from Earth."
Chthon shouted loudly.
"Dream on."
"You attack whenever you want, and leave whenever you want? Where in the world is there such a good deal?"
"And an oath?"
Karl spoke disdainfully.
To powerhouses like them, an oath was no different from paper in a restroom.
Let alone Chthon, the God of the Underworld.
Even Karl himself knew more ways than he could count to undo various oaths.
No matter how strict an oath was, it had loopholes.
Even an oath sworn to the great One Above All could possibly be bypassed through some special method.
Karl would absolutely never believe in such a thing.
Since they had already become enemies, he naturally had to kill Chthon.
Strike while he was weak, take his life.
Under normal circumstances, he could not kill a multiversal-level existence.
The existence of the Soul Link had driven Chthon's mind into chaos.
If enough time passed, his soul would split directly and turn him into a lunatic.
Even if this guy managed to escape, he probably would not be able to pose any threat to him.
"You are truly determined to fight me to the death!"
Chthon's eyes were blood-red and filled with veins, as if he were wrestling with Death itself.
"It's not a fight to the death."
"It's you die, and I live."
All kinds of laws surfaced in Karl's hands.
This space fell into chaos.
Time, space, darkness, and light all fell into disorder.
It was like a labyrinth.
Inside it, there was no way to distinguish direction at all, let alone find a path out.
Chthon's expression was extremely ugly.
His already pale face had now lost every trace of color, making him look like a corpse that had not been dead for long.
Chthon's blood-red eyes stared fixedly at this guy.
"You really are forcing me into a fight to the death!"
"The power I can unleash in an instant is enough to destroy your universe."
"You had better not push me!"
Chthon spoke through gritted teeth.
