The building had no name.
No company logo stood outside its polished glass entrance.
No national flag flew above its roof.
To the world, it was simply another private investment firm overlooking the cold waters of Lake Geneva.
Only a handful of people knew what truly happened inside.
Sophia Laurent stepped out of the elevator and walked down a silent corridor lined with dark wooden panels. Every camera followed her. Every door remained closed.
At the very end of the hallway stood a single black door. It opened before she reached it.
"You're expected."
She entered without speaking.
The room was dimly lit.
Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the lake, where gray clouds drifted across the afternoon sky.
At the center of the room stood a long table.
Only one chair was occupied.
The figure sitting there remained hidden in shadow.
The Twelfth Chair.
Sophia stopped several feet away.
"You asked for me."
For a moment...
