"You have no right to question her judgment Derek," Wren said sharply.
"I have every right when she's bonding herself to the family that might be keeping secret about her father's death from her!" Derek's voice was rising now and several people in the café turned to look. "Do you even know what you've done, Lilith? Do you know what they are? What they have done?"
"They're my mates," Lilith said, her voice shaking with anger. "And they're investigating what happened to my father. They told me that from the beginning."
"And you believe them?" Derek laughed bitterly. "You believe the Blackwoods brothers are going to tell you the truth about what happened that night?"
