Edited Passage
"She hid the memories she was unwilling to recall but couldn't bear to discard, along with the location of that door."
In the dim manor, the Wizard toyed with a glass vial glowing with a dim silver light, saying in a pleased yet mocking tone.
"Now, her own mind contains absolutely no trace of this door's location. Even if you use Veritaserum or Imperio, she would only say, 'No, I don't know anything.'"
"She truly doesn't know. That woman, who thought herself clever, even used a Memory Charm to erase the memory of having hidden this memory."
"Only when she wants to recall a sad event will she rediscover that such a place actually exists within the Department of Mysteries."
The young man kneeling on the ground said with immense reverence.
"Her self-proclaimed intelligence is as foolish as a wild boar in front of the Master."
The Wizard gently stroked the young man's hair, as if praising his own child.
"Thanks to you, you are far better than those pieces of trash."
"Will you take action personally, Master?" the young man asked excitedly, looking up.
The Wizard placed the glass vial containing the memory back onto the side table and picked up a golden locket from the table, engraved with an S-shaped emerald-green serpent in the centre.
His cold, sinister gaze became incredibly profound as he looked at the locket.
"There are more important things for me to do. I believe you should be able to handle this for me..." He whispered, then suddenly called out the name of his most loyal subordinate, "Bella."
From the shadows in the corner, the insane Witch lowered her head in response to his call and walked out.
"I leave this matter to you. I trust in your ability, and I truly hope you will not disappoint the trust I have placed in you."
"I swear on my life, Master, I will retrieve the object in that room for you!"
"I don't want your life. If you really encounter trouble, then summon me. This matter must not have any accidents!"
...
"Amy feels that she will definitely roll two sixes this time!"
"Oh? Is that a real feeling, or are you just deceiving yourself?"
"Of course! Amy really feels it; she is not deceiving herself!"
"Really?"
"Really!"
"Then you can throw the dice now."
Two dice fell from Amy's palms, rolled a few times across the carpet, and finally stopped, but the numbers on top were not two sixes, but a two and a three.
Seeing the result, Amy said dejectedly.
"Fine, Amy admits it. Amy felt from the beginning that the numbers rolled this time would be low."
After the numbers appeared, the Amy's short figure wearing a large sun hat also looked miserable as she took reluctant little steps across the grid on the carpet, arriving at the plot of land Sherlock had previously purchased.
"Aha! Pay up! You need to pay me 500 dollars in rent!"
Amy clutched the few remaining banknotes tightly and reluctantly handed one 500-dollar bill to Sherlock.
"Amy is going to be bankrupt again."
"That's why Amy is a little silly."
"Amy is not a little silly."(TN: Typical kid like interaction.)
Ever since deciding to leave the Department of Mysteries, Sherlock's daily life had become much more relaxed.
He would naturally finish the work assigned to him by Madam Selwyn; after all, he was still an employee of the Ministry of Magic before leaving and still collected a salary every day.
He just didn't need to spend the effort to investigate other things anymore.
He had already searched all the accessible places in the Time Room and found no valuable information.
Before this, he had even subtly asked Madam Selwyn about research related to time acceleration and whether there were any materials in the Time Room.
The result was that Madam Selwyn actually praised his idea, saying it was good and that he could work hard to research in this direction. Once he figured it out, the Time Room would have materials on this subject.
These words were, of course, spoken before what happened in the Memory Room two days ago; now, Madam Selwyn's attitude towards him was clearly much more distant.
Since there was nothing he was looking for in the Department of Mysteries, Sherlock certainly wouldn't stay in the Ministry of Magic for long.
Once this month ended, he would submit his resignation and then go elsewhere to continue looking for a way back.
Sherlock already had some ideas about his next destination.
Since the straw man had originally escaped from the German Ministry of Magic, he could go to Germany and take a look; perhaps he might run into a young Hilke there.(TN: I feel he is being kinda creepy. This better not have elements of that TV show called Dark.)
After earning all of Amy's remaining assets and making her go bankrupt to win this game of Monopoly, Sherlock took her out of the Ministry of Magic and went to a restaurant in central London.
Eddie happened to have time today, so they had arranged to have dinner.
By the time Eddie arrived, Amy was already drinking her third glass of juice; he was half an hour late.
"Sorry, sorry, there were suddenly more things to do at the Ministry, so I was delayed for a while."
He sat down with a look of exhaustion; it seemed he hadn't rested much these past few days.
Sherlock looked at him strangely.
"Have the Death Eaters made any moves recently?"
"No, ever since they broke into the Ministry of Magic and killed Algy last time, it's as if they've all disappeared. There hasn't been another attack." Eddie shook his head and said.
"However, the Wizarding World has more than just the Death Eater problem to deal with. Today, a Wizard named Kent living in Oxford was found to be illegally breeding Quintapeds, and in large numbers. When Kent was being arrested, he actually released those Quintapeds directly. We have to catch all those damn things!"
"Shouldn't that be the job of the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures?"
"The danger level of a Quintaped is XXXXX. Three people from the Disposal Committee have already been sent to St. Mungo's. The Ministry had no choice but to send Aurors to help deal with it."
Sherlock looked at him with pity.
"Then you'll have your hands full. Who knows where those Quintapeds will run off to."
Eddie also said with a headache.
"The key is that we don't know the quantity. Even Kent, who was caught, doesn't remember how many of these monsters he raised; he just said there were probably several dozen."
"The incident in Sheffield last time already made the Muggle Prime Minister very dissatisfied. If the Quintaped incident causes Muggle deaths again, the relationship between the two sides will be in big trouble."
Regarding these troubles, Sherlock could only express sympathy; he couldn't help much.
"Actually, there is a question I've wanted to ask you for a long time." Sherlock looked at Eddie and said, "Why are you so obsessed with the profession of an Auror?"
"Working so hard that you don't even have time to raise your daughter, and completely giving up your private life, spending almost all your energy on work? Is being an Auror that important to you?"
Hearing Sherlock's question, Eddie touched the cup filled with tea and was silent for a moment.
"People always need to have some ideals."
He said softly.
"My parents were both Wizards, and they were both Aurors. The most significant idea they instilled in me from a young age was to become an honourable Auror, to stop those who bully the weak, to save those who encounter injustice, and to uphold the order that should be maintained."
"I grew up listening to these words. My parents fought for these three principles their whole lives and finally died in the line of duty as Aurors."(TN: Ideally, their deaths should be a sign to choose a safer profession in my opinion.)
His expression wasn't very heavy, as if he were talking about a trivial matter.
Eddie shrugged.
"So, I just became an Auror, and I have been striving for these three principles. My father always told me that to master more powerful magic, one must have a goal to control that power. The human heart determines the key to magic. So, from the moment I entered Hogwarts, I have been preparing for what I am doing now, and I haven't dared to forget it for a single day."
Hearing his words, Sherlock glanced at Amy, who had just walked back from the restroom, humming an unknown tune.
"What about family? Don't they need your care?"
Eddie stared silently at the teacup in his hand.
"You know, Amy was an accident. At first, I never thought I would become a father so early." His gaze seemed to be reminiscing. "I've let down two people in my life: one is Amy, the other is Sophie. But Sophie has already walked out of my shadow and will have a better life. As for Amy..."
He looked at Amy, who had returned to her seat and was naturally taking back the pinwheel she had previously put in Sherlock's pocket, and shook his head with a smile.
"Perhaps I can entrust her to you?"
Sherlock patted Amy on the head.
"You really are heartless, handing off your daughter just like that."
"Being associated with me is the worst thing for her. There are very few Aurors in the Auror Office who have families."
Sherlock thought for a moment and decided to state his future plans at this time.
"I'm planning to resign from the Ministry of Magic, probably by the end of this month."
Eddie was stunned, looking at Sherlock in surprise.
"You've only been on the job for two months!"
"It has nothing to do with how long I've been on the job; it's just that the things I originally planned to do, I can't do."
After spending this time together, Eddie basically understood Sherlock's personality; if he decided on something, he generally wouldn't change it easily.
"Then where do you plan to go after leaving the Ministry of Magic?"
Sherlock mused and said.
"I don't have any plans for the time being, but I do want to take a trip to Germany. I can take Amy with me then."
Speaking of this, his expression suddenly became serious.
"You want to entrust Amy to my care, and I certainly won't refuse, but I can't guarantee that I definitely will be able to."
Eddie frowned.
"What do you mean?"
"Perhaps, I'm saying perhaps. There might come a day when I have to go on a long journey, and at that time, I won't have any way to bring anyone with me."
