Chapter 16 - Master Yang… I hope you didn’t lie to me

However, to her surprise, all she heard was Xiong Chen's cold voice.

"Are you done with your little performance?"

"Huh? Did I get something wrong?" Mu Rouxue was confused by his reaction.

"Yes. Not with the materials, but with respect. Did the Mu family not teach you manners?" Xiong Chen scolded her harshly.

"That's unfair! If I didn't make a mistake, why are you scolding me?" Mu Rouxue immediately shot back.

"Silence! I heard you throwing your little tantrum quietly just now. Now it's my turn to speak!" Xiong Chen cut off any chance for her to respond.

"You may think you are the spoiled little princess of the Mu family everywhere else and believe everyone must satisfy your whims, but this place is different."

"I am not your servant, nor one of your followers for you to show off to. I am your master, and I want you to respect me as such!"

Hearing Xiong Chen's speech, Mu Rouxue lowered her head, and her eyes became slightly moist.

She had never been scolded like this in her entire life.

Not even when she was a child.

She was the little princess of the Mu family. How could she suffer such injustice?

Just as the lecture seemed endless, a voice sounded from outside. To Mu Rouxue, it was like heavenly music.

"Mr. Xiong! Mr. Xiong!"

The voice was clear and lively, quickly drawing the attention of both of them.

When the door opened, what appeared before them was a girl wearing the company uniform and a short skirt.

Naturally, it was Yue Yuxia, who had come to look for Xiong Chen to appraise Yang Hu's liquid.

However, after hearing the situation, Xiong Chen could not help but mutter,

"Ridiculous… absolutely ridiculous… how could a young man be a fourth grade alchemist?"

"In the entire Martial Alliance, there are only six fourth grade alchemists, and all of them live in second tier or first tier cities."

Xiong Chen immediately mocked the claim, but he also became curious about what kind of young man could be so arrogant.

Perhaps it was just a first grade alchemist trying to draw attention using this method.

But if he really were a first grade alchemist at only twenty years old, it would not be impossible to take him as a disciple...

Seeing Xiong Chen leave, Mu Rouxue also decided to follow, curious to see who her "savior" was.

If not for him, she did not know how much longer she would have had to listen to Xiong Chen's lecture.

'Don't worry. Since you helped this young lady, I won't let them hurt you,'Mu Rouxue thought, showing a mischievous smile.

She imagined that when he was exposed and kicked out by Xiong Chen, she would help him, and the two of them would be even.

Soon, they arrived at the area where the alchemy rooms were and saw two figures.

One was sitting in a wheelchair, and the other was pushing it like an old servant.

Seeing someone arrive, Li Yang looked over, only for his gaze to freeze slightly.

Without hesitation, he bowed respectfully.

"Greetings, Master Xiong."

This was a figure who often appeared on TV, and now he was standing so close.

Xiong Chen merely nodded lightly and then turned his gaze to Yang Hu, who was sitting with his eyes closed.

With just one glance, Xiong Chen could not tell the boy's cultivation and could not help but become a little cautious.

This could only mean one thing. Either this boy was a mortal, or he was a Grand Master.

Because only a Grand Master could manipulate vital energy to the point of completely concealing it from others.

If it were anyone else, Xiong Chen would naturally think he was just an ordinary person.

But the person before him was the young man who claimed to be a fourth grade alchemist.

Fourth grade alchemist!

This was a milestone he would never be able to reach, not because he lacked experience or knowledge.

In terms of knowledge, he believed he was among the best at the third grade.

But to become a fourth grade alchemist, he would need to become a Grand Master.

Only then could he manipulate vital energy to purify anything without relying on external means.

"So, young friend… who are you?" Xiong Chen asked, looking at Yang Hu.

"Yang Hu," Yang Hu replied casually, then cast a slightly displeased glance at Yue Yuxia.

"Is this the appraiser?"

The reason for his displeasure was simple.

Young friend?

Xiong Chen was only an initial stage Martial Master, yet he addressed him like that.

"That's right. This is Mr. Xiong Chen, the only third grade alchemist of the Ouyang Pharmaceutical Group," Yue Yuxia said softly, almost flatteringly.

Not because she wanted to, but because she remembered what Xiong Chen had said in the elevator.

If she was wrong and Yang Hu was not a fourth grade alchemist, she would bear the consequences.

Thinking of this, Yue Yuxia secretly crossed her fingers.

"Master Yang… I hope you didn't lie to me."

Recalling how her colleagues had mocked her earlier for believing his words so easily, she could not help but feel even more nervous.

Moreover, she had not even checked the bottles before running off.

Now, with a calmer mind, countless problems began to surface in her head.

It's over…

It's really over… I'm going to be fired.
