I woke slowly. For several seconds, I didn't remember where I was. Then I felt the warmth beside me and my eyes opened. Hades was fast asleep. I took a moment and stared at him.
He looked nothing like the terrifying Alpha everyone in Iron Claw feared. There was no coldness in his expression, no tension in his jaw. They were relaxed and he looked so peaceful.
His dark hair had fallen slightly over his forehead, and his breathing was slow and steady. I smiled while checking him out. I had never seen him so up close. The memories of last night returned and my cheeks burned. I pulled the blanket closer.
Everything felt different this morning. My body was sore in places that made me painfully aware of exactly how close Hades and I had become yet there was no regret. Not even a little.
