"Brave," he murmured.
He released her abruptly, and she fell back into her seat, quickly putting distance between them. Her heart pounded wildly, fear clawing at her chest but she held onto her resolve.
She thought it was over.
It wasn't.
A quiet mechanical hum filled the car as the dark partition slid up, sealing them off from the driver. The windows were already tinted black.
Her breath hitched.
Before she could react, his hands were on her again
Her scream caught in her throat as she was suddenly pulled onto his lap, her body straddling him.
She went utterly still shock locking every muscle in her body.
The scream rising in her throat never made it out. His large, veined hand clamped over her mouth, covering nearly half her face, swallowing the sound before it could escape.
"You really don't understand me, do you?" he said, his voice cold, his fingers pressing harder into her cheeks.
