Just then, Obhi and Angel walked down the stairs.
Monster looked at them. His furious, jealous gaze was fixed entirely on Obhi.
His eyes slowly turned crimson with rage. The expression on his face made it seem as though, if Obhi didn't let go of Angel's hand, he would kill him without hesitation.
Obhi's eyes met Monster's.
Monster responded with a deadly smile.
The moment Obhi saw that smile, his heartbeat nearly stopped. It felt as if a terrifying demon was staring directly into his soul. Frightened by Monster's horrifying expression, Obhi tightened his grip on Angel's hand and smiled back at him, as if silently warning him.
She's mine now.
The moment Monster saw that, tears began to gather in his eyes. He lowered his head and clenched his fists so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
"If Angel wasn't here... Obhi wouldn't have left this place alive. He's only surviving because of her."
Tamayo watched everything unfold and quietly smiled to herself.
"These two are just like Emma and Deccan. Even though Deccan no longer exists in this world, his memories still live inside Emma."
His final words echoed in her mind.
"We'll meet again... perhaps in another form... or maybe in another universe. But I'll always stay by your side."
Her eyes filled with tears.
"Back then, Haiku used to hold Emma's hand just like this. The only difference is that Deccan cried that day like an innocent child in Emma's arms... and this Mr. Jealous Monster doesn't even know whether he's in love with Angel or not."
Another memory flashed before her eyes.
In his final moments, Deccan had taken a lollipop out of his pocket, handed it to Emma, and smiled as he said goodbye.
"I wish they could have stayed together..."
At that moment, Angel spoke.
"Obhi... let go of my hand."
Tamayo snapped out of her flashback and smiled again.
"It's alright, Deccan. In some universe... you definitely ended up with Emma."
Obhi didn't even hear what Tamayo had said.
His entire attention remained on Monster's terrifying face and the frightening smile he had shown him moments earlier.
Suddenly, Angel shouted,
"I said let go of my hand! Don't you understand?"
Monster's ears almost perked up.
A grin appeared on his face.
"That's my girl."
Obhi immediately lowered his head in embarrassment.
"I'm really sorry. I made you feel so uncomfortable."
Angel sighed.
"It's okay. I shouldn't have shouted at you."
Tamayo then looked at everyone.
"Oh, I completely forgot to tell you. This is my younger brother. He wants to work with your gang. Ever since I told him about all of you, he's become your biggest fan."
Then she asked,
"By the way... where are that loudmouth and the rest of her gang? I haven't seen them since I arrived. Don't they have any plans to meet me today?"
Angel explained everything that had happened before Tamayo arrived.
After listening, Tamayo asked,
"Are Emma, Kuro, Haiku, and Joya alright?"
Angel nodded.
"Kuro and Joya are fine... but I can't say anything about Haiku and Emma."
Tamayo frowned.
"So much happened... and that animal didn't even bother telling me? What an idiot. He came here before me!"
Angel looked confused.
"Who?"
"Who else? I'm talking about that owl,
Siddharth."
Just then, Angel's phone rang.
She looked at the screen, placed a hand on her forehead, and sighed.
"I'm dead..."
Tamayo raised an eyebrow.
"What happened?"
"What didn't happen? It's Mom."
Angel answered the call.
The moment she picked it up, her mother shouted,
"If your gang war is finally over, then come home today! By the way, is Emma alright? And everyone else? They're all fine, aren't they? If anything's wrong, tell me immediately."
Angel smiled awkwardly.
"Yeah... You're probably the only person who knows we have a gang instead of thinking we're just some random group."
Her mother continued,
"I'm worried about all of them too."
Angel replied,
"Okay. I'll tell D everything. But listen first... I'm not coming home alone.
Monster, Tamayo, and Obhi are coming with me. Tell D as well, otherwise he'll get angry for no reason."
Her mother sounded surprised.
"What? Tamayo is back? It's been so long since I last met her."
Then she added,
"You two can catch up later. Tell them to stay in your room and not come outside."
Angel laughed.
"Fine. I'll keep them in my room."
After a brief pause, her mother asked softly,
"How long are you going to hide Monster... and the new member?"
Angel sighed.
"I don't know, Mom... Maybe until Emma brings back the old Lions."
She paused.
"But honestly... that feels impossible."
"Alright, Mom. I'll call you later."
She hung up the phone and turned toward Tamayo.
"We can't shift everything today.
There's too much stuff, and it'll take a lot of time. We'll do it tomorrow. You can also meet Emma, Haiku, Kuro, and Joya tomorrow."
Tamayo nodded.
"Fine. I wanted to talk to Emma about my brother anyway."
Monster silently thought to himself,
"This isn't some public shelter where anyone can join our gang."
Suddenly, the sound of dozens of people coming down the stairs echoed through the building.
Angel's expression instantly became serious.
"Everyone... pick up a gun. Looks like our uninvited guests have arrived."
As everyone grabbed their weapons,
Angel pressed a hidden button.
The wall slowly rotated, revealing its other side before settling back into place, making it look like an ordinary wall once again.
Tamayo smiled to herself.
"Looks like Mr. Engineer built this too."
