Chapter 318 - Chapter 318: Three Crucial Points!

"Paris Saint-Germain's tactical adjustment has clearly worked, especially in their attacking play."

"Since Neymar moved into the attacking midfielder role, his attacking ability has been activated, giving Paris Saint-Germain more variety in the final third and creating new patterns of play."

After moving into the attacking midfielder position, Neymar frequently linked up with Draxler, who had returned to the wing.

Draxler had a very distinctive feel on the flank. He did not have any one ability that stood out too dramatically, but he was decent at everything, with a fairly balanced overall skill set. Most importantly, he was very handsome.

In the seventy-ninth minute.

"The rhythm on the pitch hasn't changed too much. Paris are carrying the ball forward, looking for Rabiot again."

"It's switched to the right. Mbappé faces Robertson again. He's so quick, and he drives forward with the ball."

"Robertson is struggling a little one-on-one against Mbappé, but he just about keeps up and stops him from crossing."

"He cuts back and goes past him. Mbappé successfully comes inside and heads toward the penalty area."

"It's switched left, to Draxler."

"He faces Arnold from the right side and feints."

"Arnold has a little push there, but the referee says no foul. The fans in the stadium are all protesting."

When Arnold defended Draxler head-on, he used his hands first, giving Draxler no chance to break through.

In the Premier League, that kind of slight hand contact might not be called, but in the Champions League, it depended on the referee's standard.

Draxler fell to the ground. The movement was a little exaggerated, but he was clearly trying to get the referee to call a foul.

The referee did not. Ignoring the protests from the Paris players, Arnold carried the ball forward along the right.

Neymar then clearly committed a retaliatory foul, stepping in and knocking Arnold down. The referee immediately blew his whistle and showed Neymar a yellow card.

That decision completely set off the Parc des Princes.

The fans booed wildly and cursed at the referee, while the fans in the live chat also began protesting.

"The standard is completely different. Why is Neymar's challenge a foul, but Arnold putting his hands on someone and pushing isn't?"

"Could Arnold's hand contact really make Draxler fall like that? That was way too fake."

"What do you mean fake? He put his hands on him and pushed. That should have been a foul."

Seeing Arnold being targeted, Leo Lin immediately shoved Neymar aside. Players from both teams were dragged into the conflict, and the match was interrupted.

In the stands, Liverpool fans and Paris fans also began arguing because of the decision. The scene became especially chaotic.

"The Paris players need to stay calm right now," Scholes said, watching the Liverpool players pretend to clash with Paris while secretly enjoying it.

"Liverpool won the Champions League last season. They're extremely experienced in this competition. The reason they're clashing with Paris is because they're the ones leading right now, and there isn't much time left. If Paris act like this, they're only moving one step closer to defeat."

Leo Lin had always been the calmest player on the pitch. His calmness did not mean avoiding conflict with opponents. It meant doing the right thing at the right moment.

So after the match was stopped, Leo Lin rushed to the scene. Every now and then, he provoked Neymar with a few words, gave Mbappé a sly grin, then covered his mouth and traded a few lines with Marquinhos.

Leo Lin kept adding fuel to the fire, making it impossible for the match to restart quickly.

A full six minutes later, the referee finally calmed the conflict, and both sides returned to their own halves.

By then, the match was already deep into the eighties. Even if the wasted time would be added back in stoppage time, the rhythm of the interrupted match had already been disrupted. The good momentum Paris had finally found was gone.

As expected, after play resumed, Paris Saint-Germain's attack gradually faded again, while Liverpool did everything they could to steady the tempo and deny Paris any space.

In the ninetieth minute, the fourth official raised the stoppage-time board. Six minutes added on.

"Paris still have six minutes to equalize, but it's difficult. It's really difficult."

Leo Lin had already dropped back in front of the defensive line to provide protection, and Rodri had indeed changed his defensive approach. Against Neymar, he was beginning to show real quality.

In the ninety-third minute.

"Salah tries to force his way down the wing, but he's caught in a double team. The ball is won back."

"Bernat launches it straight upfield. Neymar controls it cleverly, turns with flair, and beats his man beautifully."

"Arnold has been beaten. Neymar keeps carrying the ball inside."

Rodri arrived at the covering position just in time, helping Arnold defend.

Facing Neymar, who wanted to continue breaking through, Rodri pretended to step in. In reality, as he stretched out his leg, he also pulled his body backward, baiting Neymar into making the first move.

Sure enough, Neymar shaped to shoot, then cut left instead. Rodri immediately stepped forward. He did not stick out a foot. Instead, he used his body position, squeezing the relatively slender Neymar away from the ball while cutting off possession and completing the Tackling.

Rodri then passed it back, and Van Dijk cleared it long, ending Paris's attack.

Leo Lin shouted toward Rodri, praising his defending.

Arnold stepped forward and high-fived Rodri, thanking him for covering for him.

On the sideline, Klopp kept nodding. He had seen Rodri's progress.

Finally, with three blasts of the whistle, the match ended.

"The first round of Group A in the UEFA Champions League is officially over. In this clash between giants, Liverpool have the last laugh."

"They beat Paris Saint-Germain and take all three points. The match certainly didn't play out the way many people imagined."

"I mean, Paris are flying high in Ligue 1, but in this Champions League match, apart from the first twenty-odd minutes, the advantage belonged to Liverpool for the rest of the night."

"Klopp has beaten Paris Saint-Germain with a relatively rotated lineup."

With all three points secured, Klopp was delighted, and so was Leo Lin. At that moment, he was on the pitch exchanging shirts with Di María.

"Maybe you should come to Paris. There's a lot of money here. As long as you're willing to come, they'll do whatever it takes to bring you here, just like they did with Neymar."

Di María knew that Paris were short of a top Midfielder. If Leo Lin came, he would not have to keep switching into midfield so often.

Leo Lin smiled and replied, "Maybe you should come to Liverpool."

"We may not be that rich, but I guarantee the team atmosphere here is great. You'd be very happy here."

The two chatted and laughed as they returned to the locker room. Rodri was in the stands talking to his wife Laura, looking very happy.

The team immediately set off back to the club. After the plane landed, on the bus back to Liverpool, Rodri was still talking to Laura, his voice loud and clear.

The young couple were being sweet with each other. Nearby, Firmino was messaging Vivian, while Mané watched with longing eyes, and Leo Lin smiled as he took it all in.

"Lin, everyone says you're Cupid," Mané suddenly said, leaning closer to Leo Lin.

"You know I'm still single."

"Set me up with someone too!"
