Chapter 98 - Chapter 98: Joyful Bumper Cars

Flandre and Beatrice arrived at the amusement park. There were still quite a few people in the park at this time. Everyone was stunned for a moment when they saw Flandre, but soon they all started greeting her.

Although half a year wasn't a short time, Flandre's appearance was too memorable—especially those wings of hers, covered in colorful lanterns. So, the people who saw her now all began to reminisce. One must know that after those two lectures, Flandre had become the "model child" in the mouths of countless parents in Lungmen, and a nightmare for the students.

["Look, she only looks about ten years old and she can already teach people on the big screen. You look older than her, yet you can't even do addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division properly."]

["You, oh you, causing trouble every single day. If you had half the skill of that child on TV, I could die smiling right now."]

["Others can be teachers at ten years old. I don't expect you to reach that level, but getting a ninety-five on an exam shouldn't be that hard, right?!"]

...For a time, the children remembered the fear of being compared by their parents because of Flandre during that period. Fortunately, at this moment, Flandre was just a child here to play. She didn't care at all about the complex gazes from those around her. Instead, she happily started playing along with Beatrice.

"Where are the new attractions?!" Flandre asked after playing a few familiar ones.

Beatrice pointed to a place not far away that looked like a coiled dragon. "See that? The Roller Coaster. It's one of the biggest and most popular attractions built for the park this time."

"There must be a lot of people over there!" Flandre asked.

"Indeed, but I already had someone help us wait in line before I came. So, when we get there, we just need to swap places with the people who have already lined up."

Beatrice stated that, as a qualified police officer and a young lady, she naturally wouldn't do something as classless as cutting in line. However, hiring two people to wait in line didn't cost much, so she naturally wouldn't be stingy about it. Moreover, this time, the line-waiters didn't even cost money.

After pulling Flandre over, the two quickly found the people Beatrice had hired to wait in line... who were the maid sisters from her home. After swapping places, the two maids went to the next area that required queuing to continue helping with the line. After Flandre and Beatrice sat on the Roller Coaster, Beatrice nervously took Flandre's hand.

"I saw a movie before called 'Final Destination'. There's a scene in it..."

..."Sister, this is your own family's property. Is it really okay to roast it like that?" Flandre's expression was a bit subtle.

Besides, if Death came, so be it. If it was that big-chested person she knew, she might even be able to ask about the situation in Gensokyo. Furthermore, given their physical fitness and reaction speed, even if something happened to the Roller Coaster, it wouldn't affect them at all. Of course, with Flandre there, an accident was highly unlikely.

The Roller Coaster soon started up. The speed was very fast, and the continuous ups and downs did indeed look very thrilling and intense. Many people were screaming in terror. But Flandre's reaction was: That's it? She even let out a yawn.

"How was it? Fun?" Beatrice asked with a flushed face after they got off.

"Uh, not as good as the Carousel!" Flandre said after thinking for a moment.

"It can't be that bad, right?" Beatrice protested.

"It's too slow for me." Flandre's words left Beatrice speechless. She was right; given the combat power Flandre had displayed, the speed of this Roller Coaster was indeed not much to look at.

"Sister Beatrice, do you want to go up to the sky and see Lungmen?" Flandre asked.

Although the suggestion was tempting to Beatrice, she said they should go secretly later. For now, they should experience the other amusement projects first.

The two soon arrived at a large plaza filled with many single-seater Bumper Cars wrapped in a layer of air cushions.

"This is a project I highly recommend—Bumper Cars, suitable for all ages. It's also one of the hardest new projects to queue for in the entire park."

"Let's go together!"

When the two arrived, the maids had already finished waiting in line for them. In less than five minutes, it was their turn to enter the arena.

"Come on, little Flan, I'm going to show you what they call the Racing God of Lungmen!" Beatrice boasted after sitting in a bumper car.

"The Racing God will definitely be me!" Flandre said, not to be outdone.

After entering, they found the place was not small. Inside, there were forty or fifty Bumper Cars colliding intensely with each other. And Flandre spotted an old acquaintance at a glance. There was no helping it; the other person's red hair and the halo above her head were truly too conspicuous.

Lemuel, who was looking for prey, suddenly felt a chill behind her. She subconsciously turned the steering wheel to dodge. But it was too late. Flandre had already charged to within three meters of her. She turned her head and saw a familiar figure crashing in with wild laughter.

After being knocked away, Lemuel declared that she, the self-proclaimed King of the Road of Penguin Logistics, had actually been outmaneuvered by this little kid. This was simply intolerable. So she turned her car around and charged straight at Flandre.

"Don't run, little Flan! Take this!"

"Hee hee hee, you can't catch me!" Flandre, having succeeded in her strike, immediately drove her bumper car into the sea of cars nearby.

To this, our Exusiai Lemuel expressed that she had never suffered such a loss since childhood, and she was determined to get her revenge. So she immediately stepped on the accelerator and gave chase. By the time Beatrice entered the arena, she found she couldn't even find where Flandre was. She carefully drove her bumper car, dodging collisions from passersby while searching for Flandre's trail.

Then she was rammed from behind and pushed several meters away. She turned around and saw Flandre making a face at her while dashing away elegantly, with a red-haired delivery angel chasing behind her.

"Well, well, little Flan, you're actually so devious." Beatrice knew all too well that she had been ambushed by Flandre. She gave a loud cry and also joined the chase.

"Hee hee hee, ha ha ha, you can't catch me!" Flandre felt that at this moment, she was the Racing God. No matter how exasperated Lemuel and Beatrice were behind her, they just couldn't catch up. And her arrogance soon caught someone's attention.

After taking a bite of a Pocky, Texas looked at the exasperated figure of her companion chasing after Flandre in the distance, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "In Lungmen, no one is allowed to drive better than me!"

Texas stepped on the gas and intercepted from a diagonal angle, aiming straight for Flandre's flank. But she never expected that when Beatrice saw someone trying to ambush Flandre, she wouldn't stand for it. She suddenly accelerated and slammed into the rear of Texas's car, making it stumble.

Seeing her partner being bullied, Lemuel couldn't bear it either. She turned her car and crashed into the side of Beatrice's vehicle. Suddenly, the few of them began a free-for-all brawl. Meanwhile, Flandre had already made her escape long ago.

Next, a little tot appeared on the bumper car field, stirring up trouble everywhere. She drove her bumper car, hitting this person one moment and that person the next. Her reactions were so fast that most people couldn't catch her at all. Initially, everyone was just playfully bumping into their acquaintances out of friendship. By the end, it had turned into a direct super battle royale.

I don't care who's in front of me; just ramming them is all that matters. Floor the gas, grip the steering wheel, and then randomly select a poor soul in front of me. When Flandre came out half an hour later feeling refreshed, Beatrice beside her was already looking a bit disheveled.

As for the other side, Exusiai, who had also gotten out of her car, was still cheering. This was the most exhilarating attraction she had played. Texas beside her also nodded. Usually, she wouldn't dare to just ram into things while driving, but the Bumper Cars had allowed her a rare moment of passion.

"Would you two like to go have lunch together?" Considering these two were rare acquaintances of Flandre's in the city, Beatrice pointed to a fast-food restaurant not far away in the amusement park and asked.

"Sure, we happen to be hungry too."

Beatrice called over the two maids nearby. The six of them walked into the fast-food restaurant, chatting and laughing. After ordering and sitting down, Exusiai looked at Flandre.

"It seems like there's been no news of you for over half a year. I thought you had gone back to Kazdel?"

Flandre shook her head. "No, I went to Ursus and Leithanien before, and I just got back from there yesterday."

"I know, the news of your return caused quite a stir. Everyone is saying that since merchant caravans have already returned, it proves the war in the west is about to end. Speaking of which, since the fighting in the west became so intense, our business has decreased by twenty to thirty percent. It's great that it can finally recover now." Exusiai said happily.

"It's not that optimistic. You could say their return journey this time was full of dangers. They encountered armies from both sides several times and crossed dangerous minefields multiple times. I heard from my family that traffic will probably only recover by about fifty percent by early next year." Beatrice said from the side.

"Is it really that dangerous?" Exusiai looked at Flandre in surprise.

"It was indeed quite dangerous. Many scattered Ursus remnants are spread across that region, along with the following Sarkaz armies and mercenaries. Anyway, from the time we left Leithanien until we entered Great Yan territory, the sounds of battle around us basically never stopped. We even encountered several instances where the fighting between the two sides was less than a few hundred meters from the caravan."

Flandre recounted the situation from when they returned a few days ago. Although the war was entering its final stages, this was actually the most dangerous time for most ordinary people passing through. Whether it was Ursus trying to make up for losses or the Sarkaz seizing resources, to them, the passing caravans were just groups of harmless little fat sheep. If they didn't rob them, someone else would.
